Spring finally seems to have arrived with warm sunshine breaking through the clouds.

This little fella was one of a pair pottering around the base of Malham Cove where the River Aire begins it's long journey to the sea.

It was nice also to see the resident peregrines high up on the cove.

Many thanks to everyone who takes the time to view and fave my photos and in particular to those kind enough to comment. It is very much appreciated.

I was hoping for a spectacular sunset but the clouds moved in. It was beautiful and calm though. Good to be out

Not one of the nicest weeks I've had, but still some time for the camera and a walk around the neighborhood, let spring begin

Snow storm started Friday the 10th.

After months of PAB waits, building, and PAB waits again, I'm finally thrilled to share what I consider my first real fantasy build!

Exploring nature at Kouchibouguac National Park, Canada.

I'd edited this image ages ago but as more often than not I don't get things right first time - and that's okay 😁

I'm trying with 'H' when he gets furstrated that he's not good enough or didn't get things right first time (must get that from his Mom 😲🙈) that it's normal in fact even a good thing because we get as many chances as we need to get it right - there's no pressures or time limits; just as long as he does his best, - if it doesn't work out, just begin again with all that you've learnt from before and it doesn't matter when you get it right when you try your best.....

Thanks for Viewing.

Blustery weather has brought an abrupt end to our Alaskan summer and is adding a bit of color to our forest floor. In about a week - the leaves should reach their peak making for some awesome photo-ops.

The leaves on the Plum Trees are beginning to turn now.

Sun begins to set on the Grand Canyon covering all but the nearest part of the mighty Colorado in shadow. The Vermillion Cliffs stand tall in the distant background making sure to catch the last rays.

Happy shooting!

Ok, I know - *another* image of Tipsoo Lake and Mount Rainier. What I should have done (but obviously did not) was put the photos into a series showing the progression of sunrise over this spot. You can see in my previous postings, one pre-sunrise and the other at sunrise. This one was captured during the beginning of sunrise.

It's an interesting thing, and I don't know if it's just here at Mount Rainier National Park, or if it's anywhere there are snowcapped mountains: when the sun begins to rise, what you see first is a sort of white light from the sun that begins to bathe the mountain. Then, after more of the sun is above the horizon, the light becomes a gold-orange-pink brilliance that only lasts a minute before settling into a blinding light that eventually overexposes the mountain snow.

Anyway, as soon as I saw that kiss of light on the mountain top, I knew sunrise was beginning in earnest.

I captured this image in Canyonlands NP on a foggy morning. This place is amazing and around every turn there is another landscape to explore.

Part III (End)

The Saci by the Enchanted Cabin

Deep in the heart of the forest,

where silence begins to creep,

comes the Saci, fast and tricky,

with secrets he loves to keep.

Red cap high on his forehead,

red shorts shining through the trees,

he climbs the steps of a cabin,

surrounded by ghostly breeze.

He’s got just one leg, but races

like the wind, both swift and sly,

tying knots in horses’ manes,

and making corn vanish dry.

When the whirlwind starts to spin,

you best know he's close around—

causing mischief, stirring trouble,

then vanishing without sound.

Those who glimpse him in the jungle

feel a laugh, then sudden fear...

It’s the Saci clever legend,

from the lands we hold so dear.

Parte 3 (Final)

O Saci na Cabana Encantada

No fundo da mata fechada,

num canto quase escondido,

surge o Saci, pé de vento,

com um passo bem sabido.

Gorro vermelho na testa,

bermuda de cor chamando,

sobe a escada da cabana,

com a fumaça o cercando.

Tem uma perna só, mas corre,

feito raio a despistar,

faz nó em crina de égua

e vive só pra implicar.

Quando gira o redemoinho,

é sinal: lá vem danado!

Mexe em tudo, assusta gente,

mas nunca faz mal de fato.

Quem o vê por entre as árvores

sente o riso, a confusão...

É o Saci mito esperto

do folclore do sertão.

The Conrail split was less than three years prior to this photo taken on the D&H at Bainbridge, NY and Norfolk Southern has already expressed it's desire to obtain the Delaware & Hudson to make it more "competitive" against rival CSX in New England. This intermodel train became a daily venture through Chenango County as CP Rail gave over head rights for NS to run To New England from Buffalo with these boxes from Chicago. The NS business would grow and eventually NS would swallow up most of CP's presence in the Northeast.

A lovely start to Christmas Eve, we went to nearby Sandsend to watch a beautiful dawn with this, a subtle early light, just after we jumped out of the car. On an awkward high tide I couldn't do much more than shoot from the slipway. The village has a Christmas tree lit up at the beach side but the wind was blowing so much that any efforts to include it in a greetings shot would have been awful. Season's greetings to all my Flickr friends and I wish you a happy and successful New Year.
