I went to an awesome show today...my friends from Euphoria Brass Band played a wonderful set at the El Dorado bash ... i took some pix and videos...here is what transpired starting by this shot of Drew putting the good Mojo vibe on Ron before the show :-))

Crouton [aka: Jacob Olds] - Drums
Nadaddy [aka: Nathan Currin] - Keytar, Percussion, Family Force 5000
so i didn't know you could max-out tags... but apparently flickr cuts you off at 75. there is just way too much awesomeness going on in this picture to be contained by mere tags.
but it doesn't matter, because i am super excited to have a picture of nadaddy... he is usually on the opposite side of the stage [ and i usually position myself right in front of chappy :) ]. so this epic stare-down made me very happy.
Sound board operator taking a moment before we open up the house and start the show. Let it be known that all the techies for this show (sound, lights, carpentry) are women! (we rock)

i think chap is my favorite person, ever. look at that air! and this is on his way back down.
if you have a minute you should definately look at this large sized to appreciate the intensity in that face
[ ignore the crappy picture quality... i was shooting with a p&s :( ].
but still.... he is fantastic.

this was possibly the single hardest show i have ever shot. the sun was right behind the stage, just barely covered by very very thin clouds, so it was like having a giant soft box directly behind them. i had to over expose by a full stop and a half to two stops to compensate for all the shadows, and on a point and shoot, that's always more than a little sketchy. a few of them actually came out better than i thought they would, but i had to do a lot of editing on all of them....
downtown new orleans, drinking hand grenades, stumbling into bars playing blues and partying with elvis. i can't really think of a better way to spend a saturday night.

This is my drummer, Steve, before a gig we did tonight at Walter's on Washington. I love my new 50mm.

A mix between 'So, "That" Happened...' and a teeny-tiny victory. More later in the morn'.

This one was also hours before the show.. This time, Rita Redshoes was testing the (portuguese) guitar. Also one my favourite shots, love the mood on this one.
Have a G-R-E-A-T week!

at the drive in, where the light is usually gorgeous, but there are clouds as we wait for wall-e and get smart. both of which were great. and it did storm, but we put up plastic, which helped until the wind blew up, and then we just wrapped ourselves up in the plastic sheeting. what a night.
For the sun and for your ears. My drummer Steve's glasses and earplugs sitting on his snare drum right before the show.

This one was hours before the show.. I enjoy to arrive early. And I caught Rita Redshoes and the band testing the sound, the instruments, disposing the stage, it was interesting to observe what a show takes. A lot of work. :-)
