Big old beech tree was almost broken, but still alive. I felt the strong vitality of this old tree. 👏
Another one from the woods the other week. Its been hard to get anything new recently, I expect that'll only get worse over the next couple of months :(
Once again, people are asking how this effect is achieved.... this is it:
What I did was add a duplicate layer in photoshop, then add a motion blur at 90 degrees. After that, with the eraser tool I removed the blur on the parts I wanted sharp. I used the eraser at 100% on the leaves on the ground, but only about 30% on the leaves at the top, and kept erasing till I got the effect I wanted on those.

The Beech Fork Covered Bridge spans 210' with a column dead center. Built in 1865 is was restored two years ago by 80 year old Arnold Graton of New Hampshire. I met him as his crew secured the flood damaged Dover Bridge and he wanted me to see this bridge which he had just restored. Over time Kentucky has gone from having over 700 covered bridges to 13. And that's nothing to brag about. I still have one left, the Switzer Bridge, to visit. UPDATE,,,,the entire bridge burned to the creek....on March 8, 2021. Arson suspected...so since I started photographing the covered bridges of Kentucky,,,the number dropped from 13 to 11.
