Stages of becoming, at this point the leaves are changing from Green to Yellow and then Brown. They fall to the ground and eventually the tree itself follows.

Change is the constant of life.

Becoming a judge at a UK county show involves gaining expertise in a specific area (e.g., livestock, horticulture, showjumping, or dog showing)

The specific steps will depend heavily on what you intend to judge:

General Requirements

Specialised Knowledge: You must have significant, proven experience and expertise in the specific class or breed you wish to judge (e.g., owning and exhibiting pedigree dogs for a number of years, or experience in a specific form of agriculture).

Membership & Support: Often, you need to be a member of the relevant breed or discipline-specific association (e.g., the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society or a breed club for dogs) and gain their support for your application.

Stewarding/Experience: Accumulating experience by stewarding at a number of shows is a common prerequisite.

Formal Training/Assessment: You will typically need to attend seminars, workshops, and pass examinations or practical assessments to prove your competence. This often involves both theoretical knowledge (rules and regulations) and practical skills (judging different animals/exhibits).

Becoming Transparent

The white swan stands in the mist like a breath of becoming,

full of quiet strength and blossoming life.

The black crow watches in the background like the dark end of all paths.

Between them stretches the world:

Life that shines because death gives it depth.

I got the composition i wanted but used the wrong in camera flash setting and got this ghosting on the cygnets.I think it enhances the image

My Morning Glories have been slow to bloom this year but here it is in Mid October and they are Blooming like crazy. I had fun with this as the the woods provides a dark backdrop while the buds were illuminated. We are expecting a freeze later this week, so this is likely the last week to capture their beauty.

As always, my photos are all taken with a Canon Powershot A630

A lone man trains every day high atop the mountains to hone his skills in preparation for the coming war. He is rewarded with the beautiful sunset as he finishes each day, but how much longer will he be able to enjoy this simple pleasure?

There's a special magic found in early mornings. Even the lake knows, resting in stillness before the winds of the day start moving its waters. The world is quiet, peaceful, unbothered.

And of the things I love most about spending nights outdoors is how quickly your sleep pattern starts synching with nature - with the light of the day, you wake.

'Naturally', I'm not an early riser, but when I'm out in nature enough, I am. And I believe this is how it's supposed to be. It feels right to start the mornings slow, waking up together with nature.

I was pleased to see that this works equally well sleeping in my van as in a tent (at least for me, of course some people have the talent to sleep forever anywhere).

Anyways, if you read until here, this early morning moment is all about growing. One day, you may feel like a dried-up branch, but with enough love and care (and water!), the first tender buds will turn into blossom until all of you grows tall and beautiful.

And then it's just rinse and repeat. Like the seasons, we shed our skins and constantly become and unbecome. 💫

Stay hydrated and keep growing, my friends. 💙

It was not only my fifth and final morning, but it was in my final available hour of photographing the beauty of Custer State Park when this lovely lady caught my eye. I had already logged some 3.5 mile of wandering the rolling hills and rock formations in search of a Prairie rattler (another swing and a miss) when I realized that it was time to head back to my car.

As I stood at the back of my car packing away my camera gear, movement caught the corner of my left eye. As I attempted to zero in on the distraction, my mind instantly noticed that of the 50 or so Prairie dog mounds in front of me, not a single dog was up, or alerting on my return…something was very different.

Just as I started to conclude my scan of the area, it happened again. Some 25 yards out, a large amount to dirt was thrown in the air. Something much bigger than a Prairie dog was digging behind the mound, just out of view. Matching the speed of Forest Gump reassembling his weapon in boot camp, I unpacked my largest lens, switched camera bodies and attached my monopod in record time!

It took a while to close the gap a bit because I had to stop every few steps and look through the lens for activity, check settings and be ready to capture a few safety shots. I wrongly assumed that whatever it was, it would disappear into its den the second I was noticed. When she arched her back up, perfectly displaying the unmistakable markings of a Badger, I gasped, gulped and nearly provided a fecal sample instantly!

I took several shots of her back with dirt flying through the air, just in case this would be my only opportunity granted with this bucket listed gift from God. I guess her internal safety alarm went off…or she noticed my need of a shower, but she threw her head in the air, noticeably utilizing her sight, olfaction and hearing…now staring right down my lens.

It was at this point I captured this shot, a personal treasure. Knowing that the 20 or so yards between us was well within both of our comfort zones, I knew she pretty much had three options…dive down into the newly dug den, run away, or my least favorite…jump on my head and eat my face. Once again, I was blessed to be wrong as she chose a fourth option. She trotted away from me another 20 yards or so and started digging again. It was then that I realized she was hunting Prairie dogs, hunger had this normally nocturnal lady out late, away from her den and probable cubs.

The newly acquired distance between us provided much more comfort as she proceeded to hunt, her checks on my whereabouts becoming less and less frequent. It was when she decided to flip over on her back to enjoy a roll in the freshly dug dirt that I knew she was totally relaxed, and I was able to properly sex her. For the record…no photos of her “womanhood” was taken as I did not desire to have them in my camera nor computer…just in case something would tragically happen to me, like her jealous hubby jumping on my head and eating my face! I would hate for my memory to be tainted when “badger parts” photos were discovered in my files!

Several cars passed by, no doubt looking for wildlife…surely noticing me on my knees out in the middle of a prairie dog town. All missing the opportunity of this rare encounter and absolute blessing. I backed away slowly as I did not want to disrupt this mom’s guilty little pleasure, knowing that the hunt probably wouldn’t end until success was achieved.

this is about looking at yourself as a person and realising that you don't like what you see anymore.

it's about breaking out of the layers of crap that you've let get in the way of who you really are and it's about becoming something better.

Anthem is quickly becoming one of my favorite events to take part in. I'm not usually keen on themes but this July's theme was Tropical and, well, I live in a Tropical island right now and to not think of at least something seemed sinful at best. So imagine this:

You're on your virtual vacation at that tropical island sim and you've got your iconic Hawaiian shirt or that cute crop top you overpaid for but saved just for this occasion; you've got your girly martini in a coconut husk, you've got your sunglasses, the sun, the sand, the sound of crashing waves and now you're virtually hungry but not feeling any of that low-calorie watermelon salad bullshit. You need some meat, baby! And nothing is better than some Tropical Meat Skewers with a side of sweet sauce, peppers, and calamansi. You deserve it.

Find the Tropical Meat Skewers at Anthem, July 3rd 12 AM SLT and the main store after.
