I believe it's a larva/pupa of the 26 or 28-spotted ladybird beetle – Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata. The larvae are 2 to 10 mm in length and yellowish in colour with black spiny hairs; pupa are darker. I found one at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

Double expo + tripod swap with a77 & standard kit lens 18-55mm @f/13.

Shot 2 full power flashs left & right behind me first @22mm. Then lens capped & swap to another tripod and a prepared tube. Set right focus @33mm. Fired some trickstick magic in front of the tube. Set right focus to macro. Then lit up the tube from behind the cam with an orange gelled torch. That´s the magic. Any questions?
