Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beastie!

This is the first line from a poem written in 1785 by the Scottish poet Robbie Burns. Although the title of the poem is To a Mouse (apparently written in sorrow having accidentally destroyed the home of a mouse while ploughing in his field), much of the poem could be applied to a wee snail!

For Macro Mondays theme 'Book'. This wee book is a collection of poems by Robbie Burns, dating from 1913. You might wonder why I would put a snail on such an antique book, but the cover was easily wiped off and care was taken to not allow the snail to come into contact with the thin, delicate pages.

No snails were ploughed or otherwise harmed in the making of this photograph.

First attempt at insect photography, very difficult but strangely rewarding

This beastie buzzed us yesterday and was HUGE, well, bigger than the average wasp, anyone know what it is?

The youngest ( 14 mins ) of my partners identical twin girls.

Lockdown must be getting to all of us in the household as 1, I wanted to get out and try some portrait shots, and 2, this one let me point a camera at her.

Taken in local park 10 minutes walk from house..

Our image for the Fantagraphics "Beasts!" book. It's our take on a Hecatoncheire. The Hecatoncheires were the three sons of Uranus and Gaia, and they each had one hundred hands and fifty heads. The colors are a bit more vibrant in this version.

I was poking my macro lens around the garden the other day and whilst composing a shot featuring these Iris flowers at close range, this spidery beast came crawling into view. Quite pleased to have got the focus right as the dof was very shallow and the creature moved on pretty fast.

The speed of the waves can be changed from 30BPM to 400BPM to match the BPM of various music.

If you use this when you enjoy dancing or DJing, you will be more at one with the music.

/Texture Changer HUD

The front of the glasses, the temples on the sides of the glasses, the rims, the lenses on the first layer, and the waves on the second layer can be changed by choosing from 24 different colors (inclueded fatpack ver)

For the lens that displays the second layer of waves, the transmittance and glow intensity can be changed in the HUD.

By using the texture changing HUD, you can hide the wave and use it like a pair of ordinary glasses or sunglasses.

I spent a lot of time to create this simple pair of glasses.

I think I have created something wonderful.

Another attempt at Macro....not quite there. Thinking of making a micro-slider from two verniers, so I can slide the distance between camera and subject in 0.5mm steps.

This guy is about 16mm or 3/4 inch long.

I believe it's a larva/pupa of the 26 or 28-spotted ladybird beetle – Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata. The larvae are 2 to 10 mm in length and yellowish in colour with black spiny hairs; pupa are darker. I found one at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
