One thing you can say about Bad Münstereifel is that they have taken advantage of the river throughout the village with their constructions, when I look at the river and being a Canadian I would call this a brook or at best a stream but locals call it a river and who I am to argue.
The whole length of the river through the town is littered with these cute little bridges and the town has put them and the surroundings to good use with little nooks and crannies that are taken advantage of with outdoor displays and small patios to enjoy the sun and take in the beautiful setting.
Though the city has turned to commercialism to be prosperous with the first old town outdoor outlet mall in Germany I really can’t think of any mall with the charm of the village and wish all my shopping could be done is such a location.
Commercialism does run through the blood of the inhabitants they have been plying the trades of wool production, tanneries, and breweries since the 13th century and recently (1618) they added linen production to their wares.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 24mm 1/60, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia curves masks and DXO Nik Color Efex)

Am 12. August 2018 bekam ich gegen 14.00 Uhr die Meldung das die beiden SBW 241er mit einem Sandzug in Gera stehen Richtung Ploching. Zudem fuhr aber vor der Haustür die 243 mit einer Lerreise vorbei. Ich entschied mich für die beiden Russen und fuhr nach Bad Köstritz. Noch im Auto nahm ich ein Rauschen wahr und dachte, dass die Russen schon kommen, zum Glück war es bloß die Maxima mit dem Kieszug. Nach einer halben Stunde warten am Bahnhof wurde das Signal grün und ich nahm die Klänge der Russen wahr. Nach paar Minuten dieselten 241 697 + 241 008 samt Sandzug an mir vorbei. Die 243er verpassten wir leider nur knapp, da der Zug Verspätung hatte. Man kann aber nicht immer alles haben.

I get poison ivy so bad I've been hospitalized so for the first 25 years of my life I didn't venture into the woods very often and I think that is the impetuous of my love affair with nature now during the second half of my life after moving to Washington from Missouri.
I enjoy little scenes like this immensely, indeed, this was early in the hike and still I stood here, smelled the chilled air, listened to the rush of water, the grinding of stones being carried downstream. I think if everyone took the time to do this the world would be a happier place. So open your window, turn on a tap and blow this up. You're welcome. :)

Eine laue Sommernacht in Bad Ems an der Lahn. Die Sonne geht im Westen unter und versteckt sich schon hinter den Bergen. Die Lichter an der Lahnpromenade sind schon angegangen. Im Vordergrund ist rechts das Häcker's Grand Hotel und im Hintergrund das Spielcasino zu sehen. Die lange Belichtung habe ich mit einem ND Filter erreicht, damit die vielen Menschen auf der Promenade nicht so sehr stören.
