After waking up at beautiful Lake Katherine, we packed up camp and headed over Windy Pass to camp our second night below Puerto Nambe.

You really do feel like your on top of the world....or at least the lower 48. Yes, it was cold up there, in the 40's. 10,000 ft. below it's 100.
Patrick picked the basket out at a store in the city and said it would make a great back pack - so I undertook the project to make it one.
Minor mods to the basket, a cannibalized army surplus bag, an old belt and a fair amount of seam ripping and hand stitching later... It's a backpack!
He will be the perfect porter at our picnic next Sunday

I invested in a few new backpacking bags, but needed a storage solution. There are fancy backpack hangers you can buy, but I figured I could make something out of supplies I have on hand.
