Cumberland Island Wilderness Area (Georgia), Brickhill Bluff Campsite - I would definitely recommend this national seashore and maritime forest backpacking trip, but don't do it in the summer months unless you're hot weather and humidity acclimated (heat index was 125 F this trip).
Excluding a wild horse, we had the Brickhill Bluff camping area to ourselves. There are some nice surprises to reward the 10.5 mile hike north from the Sea Camp ferry dock. There are also plenty of day hiking opportunities from this spot, including a short 2.5 mile run to the Atlantic Ocean side beach.
Over the 13 miles hiking along the beach back to Sea Camp (where most people setup camp), we only encountered 1 researcher and 1 family (assuming they were permanent residents). That's my kind of beach.

I asked this guy I was walking behind if I could take a picture of his backpack. He said sure. Sorry if you can't make out the middle words.
The "Women Backpacking Together" Meetup met at the Caribou Lake Trailhead in the Caribou Wilderness in the middle of the night... around midnight. Lorrie and I were there around 7:30pm so after we put up our tent and built a fire, we warded off the bears by making a lot of noise. Four plus hours! We were up around 9am and out on the trail around 11am. Got to our camp at North Divide Lake around 3:30pm and set in for a cold night. Snow all around but we found a nice meadow to camp in.

Went Backpacking for a long weekend on the Appalachian Trail. We left our car at the Hot Springs trail head in NC, and got a shuttle up to the trail head in Tennessee. We went 33.3 miles through the mountains... a lot of fun.
