Born by c-section, Rupert's mother was killed by a car and the occupants saved his life by taking his mommie to the emergency - only moments before his own death- where he was delivered months too early. He was so tiny at birth that he fit into the hands of a man. He is doing well and is at the Tiggly Wiggly Wildlife Hospital in England. His photos made news all around the world. Deer are very fickle and he survived by being in a incubator for the first 4 weeks of his life. I will have more photos of this amazing journey of "Rupert - the Deer the COULD"!
Don't you just love Rupert?
Thanks to Jeff Moore for the photos and information on this lovely sweet baby!
A puffin with a meal for its baby, picture taken in Iceland this summer. It was great fun to watch them and i was glad to hear they were doing better than a few years ago.
I am still enjoying the pictures we took on our holiday so much. I ant to see lots more of Iceland, and then onto Norway, Sweden, Finland and then maybe Denmark again.... :) Reading about the Finnish educational system does not calm down my infatuation with everything Nordic/Scandinavian either.... how wonderful it must be to be a teacher in a society that values education and where being an educator is stil an honourable profession.
I don't know if the fact that it's a baby makes it any cuter, but I think he's cool. I found him earlier today in my backyard, so I took him, stuck him in a little tidepool, took his picture and let him go. He was only about 5" long. Shockingly well camouflaged, too - when I released him, it only took a few seconds before he vanished.
Pattern from here harugurumi.blogspot.com/2008/02/baby-sheep-free-pattern.html But i have changed it a little bit as you can see ^^

Brisbane Tramway Museum's small centre aisle or Baby Dreadnought car no. 99 at the Ferny Grove Museum.
Decided to name the babies, unisex names as I dunno who's a boy or a girl.
Ninja, on the left, not showing her face, got stripes from her beak to the eyes. Baby has a fuzzy yellow face and Beaky on the right has a dark beaky.
They were all surrounded by mum, dad and the extended family. They were very protective. I kept my distance as I did not want to disturb them.

I saw Baby Driver today.
It's good. One of those movies that's hard to describe, because it's one of those films that remind us that movies can be art. The car chases were pretty damn good too.
Anyway, a perfect 5 out of 7.
The wee tadpoles have FINALLY turned. You couldn't get near the pond due to these little guys boinging all over the ground. These little babies were even smaller than the ones we photographed last year.
Some baby quilts I have made over the past year. My favorite because of the pieced mini blocks inside.
sleeping babies no matter who........snore quietly, with such wondrous melody..........................
