Turned off the news and finally took a look at some pics from April 2016! Looking forward to spring!!
I originally intended to shoot the stars and the milkyway that day but while I was waiting for the night I saw the moon setting and I thought to give it a try. I set up my tripod, camera settings and went for the shot. It was magic!
We had a smaller time window to fill because we were waiting for friends from England. The meeting was scheduled for "midday" and no location was specified. So we passed the time at various locations. Katowice-Zawodzie was one of them.

A trio of IHB EMDs on an auto train sit and wait for CSX cross-traffic to clear in Dolton. Another eastbound with a Union Pacific SD70M does the same.
In the background, a train in the IC was passing over the Harbor Belt. Dolton always provided a lot of activity.
A former ALCO RS2 & S2, rebuilt with Cummins prime movers, sit in the scrap yard in Docheno, SC. 8-7-20
Found the perfect shot of the day while having an evening walk in Verdun, Montreal. The empty bench and the soft sun rays represent the waiting for that special person in our life.
I turned around from shooting Crater Lake and witnessed this sight. The Visitor's Center was covered in untracked snow and the moon was in a perfect position.
The Denver and Rock Island is a short line railroad in Denver. The railroad has fewer than ten units on the roster, and fewer than ten miles of track! However, the railroad is generally very busy as a lot of customers are located on its rails. Many customers found the DRIR to be more responsive to demand than UP or BNSF. Here, we see a few of the railroads units. DRIR 417 is an NW2. DRIR 88 is a GP9R. DRIR 1083 is an SW1500. The last unit is a recent acquisition from Nebraska Central, and is a GP7.
