FEC train 103 splits the MP 168 intermediates near City Point on their way south to Fort Pierce, FL.
The new main on the right of the train is complete but it has not been activated yet. This extention runs between the new Cocoa Junction control point (this CP still hasn't been activated as well) to CP Frontenac. Frontenac used to be the south end of the Titusville double track and with Brightline’s project occurring, FEC decided to double track this section between Cocoa Junction and Frontenac as it didn't make sense for a small 2-4 mile stretch of single track to remain between the two CPs. This will likely help reduce bottlenecking and traffic slowdowns while the unit train arrives at City Point each weekday morning. For example, the 103 seen here had to wait until 336 and 915 cleared the main before they were able to proceed south.
Outside a small hotel in Sheringham which will soon be demolished. It has stood empty for many years now... street artists have started to adorn it's walls with bright and amusing art quite recently taking advantage of it's imminent demolition.

Coming out of the mountains from the Death Valley National Park, I pulled over to take some photos. The panic attack it caused my wife was well worth it.
More hard drive clearing.
I believe this is a Baldwin locomotive from the Baldwin company of Philadelphia USA.
Step by step, man continues his progress, climbing the steps which lead him towards the unknown, towards his destiny which awaits him at the top of this staircase which seems to rise towards infinity.
Pas après pas, l'homme continue sa progression, gravissant les marches qui le mènent vers l'inconnu, vers son destin qui l'attend au sommet de cet escalier qui semble s'élever vers l'infini.
Today..by the River Cherwell, near Grimsbury reservoir, Banbury. These two goldfinches were busy nest building. About 12 feet high in a hawthorn tree, partially covered by ivy... they took some spotting. (Carduelis carduelis)

A Science Fiction scene of the Venus Fly Trap against the bokeh speckled window (body snatching spores), late day sun flare. I just threw a PS filter over it and pumped up the saturation.

Many of them are Pines of various descriptions and around 50 years old or so.

It looks like it's been through some long and tough years of service, and yet it will probably serve its owner faithfully for a long time to come.

What is your favorite way to travel? When my older kids were young we did a lot of rv camping, got out often and explored the mountains on the weekends. We haven't done much camping with my youngest, opting for adventures around our town and longer vacations by plane now. I think it's time to start some new outdoor adventures. Want to join me? Where will you go?
