Looking forward to returning to Central Nevada after Bodie later this week!

This image is from our last Nevada tour, last month.

Have a fantastic day, everyone...

Maybe 1/10 or less of the Cormorants who gathered at the tip of Ft. Pickens Florida for the morning feeding frenzy on 31 March, 2022.

Bad storms the night before lifted the surf up into 5–6-foot swells hiding many of the elongated flock in this shot. This was an amazing experience to witness as the seagulls would circle above waiting for the schools of minnows to near the surface. The Cormorants and Pelicans would just float and keep a watchful eye on the gulls.

Every morning for a week I stood on the beach in witness of these events, not once could I detect what the gulls would do to alert the others. Like ringing a bell in a boxing match, they did something that made the Cormorants and Pelicans converge in a frantic free for all of gorging themselves on the dark clouds of minnows who would have been much better served to stay away from the surface. The Dolphins may well have been responsible, placing the minnows in an oceanic version of being between a rock and a hard spot!

A pre-dawn glow at Bouley Bay, Jersey in the Channel Islands. I sat on this pebbley shingle shore awaiting the sun all alone and it was perfectly still. I can smell that lovely salty freshness as I look at this shot, it takes me back to the "alive and free" feeling you have in better days!

With the fall-winter transition under way, reptile activity will be slowing down for the season. The Desert Patch-nosed Snake (Salvadora hexalepis) is one species that never cease activity fully. You can find this species somewhat active during the warmer days or under surface cover on the warmer winter days. This particular snake was sitting at a trails edge in the early morning beneath some thicker bushes awaiting the sun to warm the ground up.

Nobody really knows what the end of year festivities will look like this year, but hopefully they will still include trees.

One therapy - a walk is for sure the best remedy when possible. You are never alone and always distant as much as you want to be. The sundown, the crisp fresh air and the song of the river is your best friend. To all people who believe that the Covid19 is faraway or for the old, I got news for you. It does not discriminate, does not care if you are old or young, male or female or a different gender. It doesn't give a damn of the color of your skin or the tongue that you use. It's just there awaiting for the stupid people who think they are immune and above all others. Friends let's keep calm and smart. Once you are gone there's no coming back. As for the Holidays please stay home and don't mix in little crowds or big ones. there's lots of time in the future (for those who make it) to enjoy life. A prayer from a family who just lost a mom,mother-in-law,a grand mother or beautiful soul to this virus.
