Am Morgen des 3. September 2019 fanden wir uns in einem Hotel in der Peripherie von Prato wieder. Eigentlich viel weiter nördlich, als wir gemäß grober Urlaubsplanung sein wollten. Aber ehe man im Mezzogiorno im Regen sitzt, rödelt man eben auch von Rom noch mal in die Toskana hoch...
Ziel am Vormittag sollte die alte Direttissima Bologna - Prato (- Florenz) sein, die ab 1934 DIE Querung des Apennin darstellte und erst mit Eröffnung der parallelen Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke 2009 wieder etwas an Bedeutung einbüßte.
Einen tollen Ausblick hatten wir oberhalb von Carmignanello in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft der Burgruine auf dem Rocca di Cerbaia gefunden. Zusammen mit der kleinen Wanderung vom Talgrund hinauf und einer Burgbesichtigung (umfangreiche, zweisprachige Infotafeln informieren) ein schönes Ausflugsprogramm, aber irgendwie ganz ohne Zug bei Sonne dann doch nicht so schön, wie es sein könnte...;)
Als sich mal wieder ein größerer Sonnenspot vor Ort ausgebreitet hatte, aber planmäßig kein Zug anstand, hofften wir dementsprechend stark darauf, dass sich doch bitte irgendetwas außerplanmäßig auf den Gleisen tun sollte. Und tatsächlich tauchte dort hinten nach längerer Warterei ein Mercitalia-Containerzug mit einem "Tigre" in XMPR-Lack auf. Leider aber unerträglich langsam, sodass der nächste Wolkenschatten schon wieder bedrohlich schnell heran rückte... Es hallten also in purer Verzweiflung Anfeuerungsrufe durch das Tal - Avanti, Tigre, avanti!
Letztlich klappte es wirklich haarscharf mit der Sonne. Dank 86 Minuten Verfrühung passte auch das Seitenlicht noch wunderbar für den TME 52225 (Verona Quadrante Europa - La Spezia Migliarina).
PS: Das Bild ist aus zwei übereinander angeordneten Querformat-Aufnahmen entstanden, um noch ein bisschen mehr vom Wolkenhimmel zeigen zu können.

The Avanti II is an American performance sports coupe based on the Studebaker Avanti and marketed through a succession of five different ownership arrangements between 1965 and 2006. Studebaker Cruise-In at Winks, August 26, 2006.
A rare Sports Car from Canada
Originally a manufacturer of wheelbarrows and other mining tools, Studebaker made wagons and coaches before many years as a fixture on the American road. Due to declining revenues, they retired to Canada in 1965 to make these unusual sports cars.
Photographed May 24, 2016 at Hidden Lake Gardens near Tipton in Michigan's Irish Hills. These are the botanical gardens of Michigan State University and the location chosen by the owner for a photo session with his Avanti, on which he recently completed restoration.

The July 8, 2016 Rolling Sculpture car show in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. This show with a great variety of vehicles always takes place on the second Friday in July.
We had a brief rainstorm in early evening and this block of Avantis and other Studebakers looked very nice after the sun came out.

American luxury in the sixties . Studebaker Avanti style 1962-63 . I can't recall ever seeing and American car with such an array of instrumentation .

My cat Lua already is famous. A few months ago they were contacted by me from the company Avantipress because they wanted to buy me a photo of my cat Lua that they saw here in Flickr, (the photo), to do greeting cards. Well then, everything has gone on wheels and even I have been sent by 100 cards of a free way.
The treatment with them to been of serious and professional mas and I do Lori's special mention that is the person with whom I have treated at all time, thank you Lori.
