This beautiful early 20th century building was exclusively designed by architect H.P. Berlage for the immensely wealthy couple Anton and Helene Kröller-Müller.
Nowadays it's a site you must visit when you visit the National Park De Hoge Veluwe. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a temperature around freezing point last weekend the Park was not that crowded. And since blue hour is quite early these days I was able to take this image and exit the park before closing time. The latter took us half an hour of cycling in almost darkness through the forest. Bu we made it!
Since this building wasn't lit by artificial lights it was a challenge to make the final result pop. But some dodging and burning and fiddling with the tones did the job.

Le bateau WB Yeats of Irish Ferries finishes her journey from Cherbourg while for others, its just the start of their journey on a chilly morning in October towards the end of the Great South Wall, all that fresh Irish Sea air, oh la la.
WB Yeats was constructed by German shipbuilder Flensburger & delivered (albeit late ) in December 2018 & will be primarily used on the Dublin-Cherbourg route, upgrading the route from the current economy Epsilon service.
194 meters long, nearly 32 meters wide, comparable with the mighty Ulysses on the Dublin-Holyhead route but has far more cabin space given the longer crossing to France.
A total capacity of 1,885 passengers and crew, with 435 individual passenger cabins in various combinations.

Even when I'm not working as a forester I like to be among trees. Especially in autumn, when the colors of the different species battle for our attention. In this case the warm tones of the beeches compete with the cool tones of the pines. As a photographer I love these battles....

Deze foto heb ik gisteren gemaakt in het Staelduinse Bos. Er zijn nog niet heel veel paddenstoelen te vinden, maar wel mooie bladeren. Op deze foto heb ik één blad uitgelicht. Fijn weekend iedereen!
