Special:

- The 600 (1955-1969) was the FIAT's first rear-engine car (designed by Dante Giacosa) and it was also produced in Spain (Zona Franca, Barcelona) as the SEAT 600, only for the Spanish market, Germany (Neckar), Chili, Argentina (FIAT-Concord) and Soviet Union (ZAZ).

- FIAT stopped production in 1969 (sold the entire production line to the Zastava factory in Kragujevac, Serbia 1969-1983) and allowed SEAT to build and export a new 600E to Europe with a FIAT badge (also as a FIAT☺).

- The 600D had "normal" doors (no suicide doors anymore since 1964), a new and more powerful engine and a new dashboard.

- Thanks to the rear-engine placement, there was relatively ample interior seating plus luggage space in the front.

- It has a four-speed manual gearbox (directly mounted to the engine), a Weber carburettor, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.

- The original Tipo 15 (see pictures below) was the first automobile launched under Ettore Bugatti's own name.

- It was designed still working as chief engineer at Deutz Gasmotoren Fabrik (Collogne - Germay) in his basement.

- The later Tipo 15 was prototyped as the Tipo 10 in 1908 - 1909.

- The original Tipo 15 is recognizable Identified by the hexagonal radiator and known as "La Baignore" ("Bath tub").

- This Tipo 15 Roadster (let's called it the "Second Series: ☺☺), doesn't have the "Bath tub" anymore and was built at the Molsheim plant.

- The chassis is based on a 40 cm stretched Tipo 13 wheelbase with live axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs at the front and back, cable drum brakes and has a slightly bigger engine (1368cc i.s.o. 1327cc).

- This automobile (chassis number 589, 3.90m(l)x1.25m(h)x1.45m(w)), also designed by Ettore Bugatti himself, has a four-speed manual gearbox, a Zenith 30 carburettor, shaft drive and rear wheel drive.

- Tipo 13 (1910-1920) was the first designed car at his own company at Molsheim (Germany).

- This Cabriolet, also known as a Spider, was designed by Pininfarina S.p.A., Cambiano (Italy), similar styling to the Fiat-OSCA model.

- It also has the OSCA MT4 DOHC engine, a four-speed manual gearbox (the five-speed came available in 1964), sychro on second, third and fourth gears, a two-barrel Weber carburettor, a 12-Volts electric system, a 38 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.

- After the Mimran family had bought ithe nearly bankrupt Lamborghini in 1980, only three models were produced: The LM 002 off-road, the Countach and this "small Targa-like" (targa roof with sensor) Jalpa, also called the "baby-Lambo".

- The name Jalpa Kandachia came from a famous breed of fighting bulls (Ferruccio Lamborghini's passion for bullfights), a tradition later followed with the Gallardo.

- Originally known as Project 118, it was designed by Carrozzeria Bertone and the engine (of the Silhouette) was "repowered" (read less powered ☺) by Giulio Alfieri, so it could be sold in the U.S.A. now.

- It has a transverse mid-engine (aluminum), a five-speed manual gearbox, four Weber 42 DCNF carburetors and rear-wheel drive.

- As Lamborghini's entry-level model, the Jalpa was squarely aimed at taking on the Ferrari 308 and later the Ferrari 328.

- The Jalpa was introduced at the Auto Show in Genève in 1981, but production started at the end of 1982.

- Chrysler became "boss" and after disappointing sales, production stopped in 1988.

- The progressive design of this "Coach Profilée" is made by Jean Bugatti, Ettore's sun, only 23 years old at that time.

- The "Profilée" body style became inspiration for the later Ventoux body type found on the Type 57 chassis.

- The Tipo 50 is an improved Tipo 46, especially the Roots supercharged engine.

- The Tipo 50 was the first road-going Bugatti with Bugatti's double overhead cam (DOHC / 2xOHC), 2 valves/cyl. straight-8, inspired by Harry Miller's design. Also an idea of Jean, dying in a car crash (Tipo 57 racing car test drive) in 1939, aged 30 years.

- The Type 50 was designed to be a high performance, daily driver automobile.

- This fixed-head Coupé has a three-speed manual gearbox (bolted onto the transaxle) with shaft drive, a dry clutch, cable operated drums all around and rear wheel drive.

- The front suspension has a solid axle and 1/2-elliptical springs while the rear suspension has a solid axle with reverse 1/4-elliptical springs.

- The windscreen has an extremely low slope angle; less than thirty degrees.

- The aluminium disc-wheels (with cooling fins) are one of the most characteristic Bugatti features of the day.

- The road-going Type 50s were delivered as a "running" / "rolling" chassis ready to be bodied by only the finest of coach builders (like Levallois-Perret Million Guiet and Van Vooren) of the customer's choice.

- Tipo 50 was available in two steel ladder frame chassis:

* Tipo 50T: a long "Touring" version with 2 Schebler carburettors, a Roots Supercharger and torque 386 Nm/ 2.800rpm.

* Tipo 50: the "sport" version, with a 40cm shorter wheelbase and 2 Zenth carburettors and a slightly stronger engine (a higher capacity Roots Supercharger) producing 225bhp/4.000rpm, torque 420 Nm/ 2.800rpm and a top speed of 192 km/h, the most powerful production engine Ettore ever designed.

- The Tipo 50 was trend-setting, big, impressive and easy to drive but also expensive to buy / restore and mechanically complex.

- As far as known, this is only one of two "Coach Profilée" survivors.

Special:

- The Coupé is designed at the Centro Stile FIAT itself, the Spider comes from the drawing boards of Bertone and differs in body and dashboard strongly on the Coupé. The Spider is also built by Bertone.

- As well the Coupé (type 1: 1965-1968 / 843cc / 37 bhp) as the Spider were shown at the first time at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show.

- Its name refers to the original engine size: 843cc.

- There nickname was "piccolo Ferrari", "small Ferrari" because of the Ferrari-like looks.

- Type 2 (1968-1970) became a more powerful engine (903cc / 52 bhp), newly shaped fenders, rubber bumper rosettes, double heat lights and dual rear lights. And the Coupé as well as the Spider getting the addition "Sport" (Sport Coupé and Sport Spider).

- Both vehicles received sport seats, round speedometer and a sport steering wheel.

- Type 3 (1971-1972) became more power (57 bhp) and some minor cosmetic modifications, like the bigger dual heat lights and a leather steering wheel.

- From the start, all Coupes and Spiders had disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the back.

- The rear mounted engine has a four-speed manual gearbox, a Weber 30 DIC 2 carburettor, a 30 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.

- A novelty was that the car had its own electric heater (so no heating from the rear mounted engine☺!).

- The 850 series were available as 2 dr Coupé, 2 dr Saloon (Berlina), 2 dr Roadster (Spider), 2 dr station wagon (Familiare) and as 2 dr van (Furgonata).

Ferruccio Lamborghini, an Italian manufacturing magnate, founded Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. in 1963 to compete with established marques, including Ferrari. The company gained wide acclaim in 1966 for the Miura sports coupé, which established rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive as the standard layout for high-performance cars of the era. Lamborghini grew rapidly during its first decade, but sales plunged in the wake of the 1973 worldwide financial downturn and the oil crisis. The firm's ownership changed three times after 1973, including a bankruptcy in 1978. American Chrysler Corporation took control of Lamborghini in 1987 and sold it to Malaysian investment group Mycom Setdco and Indonesian group V'Power Corporation in 1994. New products and model lines were introduced to the brand's portfolio and brought to the market and saw an increased productivity for the brand. In the late 2000s, during the worldwide financial crisis and the subsequent economic crisis, Lamborghini's sales saw a drop of nearly 50 percent.

 

Lamborghini produces sports cars and V12 engines for offshore powerboat racing. Lamborghini currently produces the V12-powered Aventador and the V10-powered Huracán along with the Urus SUV powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine.

Bugatti Automobiles est un constructeur d’automobiles hyper-sportives de grand luxe français appartenant à 55 % au groupe Rimac Automobili depuis son rachat en 2021. Fondée en 1909 par le constructeur franco-italien Ettore Bugatti, l’entreprise est longtemps considérée comme pionnière dans le domaine de l’automobile et produit de luxueuses sportives de prestige marquées par l’adage cher à Ettore : « Rien n’est trop beau, rien n’est trop cher ».

Bugatti est dépositaire de plus de 1 000 inventions brevetées en mécanique et se distingue particulièrement en compétition automobile, notamment dans la première moitié du XXe siècle, avec ses « légendaires » bolides bleus de France à la calandre en fer à cheval. - The 124 Sport Coupé was designed in-house Centro Stile FIAT by Mario Boano, based on the 124 Saloon car (Berlina in Italian) and technically similar to the Spider (designed by Tom Tjaarda from Pininfarina S.p.A., Cambiano - Italy), but with less engine variants and presented at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show.

- The four cylinder, aluminum crossflow head, engine, designed by ex-Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi, has a toothed timing belt to drive the twin overhead camshafts DOHC), the first mass-produced engine to feature this instead of the usual chain-drive.

- The 124 Sport Coupé was also the first mass production car with glued front and rear windows.

- This so called “three-box notchback 2+2 “ has a four-speed manual gearbox, a twin-chokeWeber 34 DFH carburettor, a viscous fan clutch, a 12-Volts electric system, a 200 km/h (120 mph) speedometer, three supplementary gauges, a faux wood steering wheel, a woodgrain dashboard and console top, a 45 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.

- The chassis with steel monocoque body has independent wishbone front suspension with coil springs, front and rear anti-roll bars and an advanced torque tube rear axle, located by parallel trailing arms, with coil spring suspension, bucket seats trimmed in vinyl at the front, a locking glovebox, power-assisted disc brakes all around, worm & roller steering and the tail lights shared with the Lamborghini Espada and Iso Rivolta.

- The torque-tube rear axle of the A series was replaced by a four-link rear axle with a Panhard rod in mid-'68.

- This sporty car was rust very rust sensitive, so only few survivors remain today.

- Alloy wheels, specially designed by Cromodora for the 124 Sport Coupé, Carello rectangular fog lamps and a five-speed manual gearbox (by mid-’67) were optional.

- Codename Project 132 started in June 1985 as a replacement for the Countach model.
