With an app like open camera, you have access to exposure compensation, that allows you to correct the automated exposure algorithms of the camera. In this case, a -1 exposure compensation did the trick.

Simplistic at best and archaic at worst, "Palarus" automated platform doesn't have enough thrust to compete with modern starfighters and attack crafts. It lacks armor and shielding and generally can't engage in active combat. But it has one big advantage - low cost.

These platforms designed to be mass produced and sold to small colonies, outposts and facilities, that can't afford their own defense forces or hiring a private military. They can operate autonomously or rely on dedicated targeting systems — hanging in orbit and watching silently.

Its' armament provides basic protection against pirates, smugglers, and all sorts of bandits. Its' EM cannon can be even used against asteroids and other debris. This platform designed to hit from distance: on its own it can take out vessels of a size up to a gunboat — with an arrange of rockets.

Since primary design objective was to reduce cost, the most expensive elements on these platforms are their ammunition and sensors. It has a basic civil-grade small reactor to keep all the electronics functional. It lacks any complicated cooling systems — that's why there's a big radiator on top of the vessel. In result it resembles a primitive vessels which were used in 23rd century — and this simplicity allows for zero maintenance while operating for decades.

Although it designed as a sort of "stationary" gun platform to put out the ragged intruders, it curiously saw use by pirates and rebels in active combat amidst asteroid belts. Low thrust is not a problem in these specific conditions and they're cheap — which means that they can be used in hundreds even by poor gangs.

The Year 2000 problem, also known as the Y2K problem, the Millennium bug, the Y2K bug, the Y2K glitch, or Y2K, is a class of computer bugs related to the formatting and storage of calendar data for dates beginning in the year 2000. Problems were anticipated, and arose, because many programs represented four-digit years with only the final two digits — making the year 2000 indistinguishable from 1900. The assumption of a twentieth-century date in such programs could cause various errors, such as the incorrect display of dates and the inaccurate ordering of automated dated records or real-time events. Companies and organisations worldwide checked, fixed, and upgraded their computer systems to address the anticipated problem. As a result, very few computer failures were reported when the clocks rolled over into 2000.

Iris is spunky hacker who loves using her custom multi-function prosthetic to cause chaos for the crime syndicates and corrupt law enforcement in the Layered City.

Iris prefers to use her hacking and programming skills to support Ode's team from the background. Iris has spent months implanting malware in the Layered City's computer system, and she uses the holo-computer built into her arm to exercise near absolute control over the city's many automated functions.

When she is forced to engage in combat, Iris has an emergency set of Phase-Tech claws and a Plasma beam emitter built into her arm.

Iris fills an invaluable role on Ode's team, and her upbeat attitude and general positivity keep her team's spirit high. While she appears to support Ode's goal of ridding the Layered City of corruption, it is unclear if she has an ulterior motive. She is incredibly secretive about her past and how she became such a proficient hacker without detection.

Build Notes:

This one was an adventure. The concept for "Hacker Girl" started with the mechanical arm with the computer built in. The colors and hair for her changed a bunch when I was working on her (RIP purple shoes). A lot of the decisions of the appearance of this character were made based on parts limitations (the crop top for example was because I ran out of black curved slopes half way through building the shirt). The end result is really flexible and can hold lots of dynamic poses. As always, face and some of the hair design by Eero Okkonen. I promise I'll quit ripping off his stuff eventually.

The relatively newly automated swing bridge at Black Point is still good for a lengthy delay. 1501 arrived from the east 50 minutes before sunset, sat there through the sun dropping below the clouds and eventually below the horizon. Almost greatness.

CORSEWALL LIGHTHOUSE IS LOCATED ON CORSEWALL POINT ON THE ROCKY NORTH COAST OF THE RHINS OF GALLOWAY, THE CATEGORY A-LISTED CORSEWALL LIGHTHOUSE LIES 9 MILES (14.5 KM) NORTH NORTHWEST OF STRANRAER, PROVIDING A BEACON FOR SHIPS APPROACHING THE MOUTH OF LOCH RYAN.

BUILT BETWEEN 1815-17 BY THE NOTED ENGINEER ROBERT STEVENSON (1772 - 1850) ON THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTHOUSE BOARD, ITS WHITE-PAINTED MASONRY TOWER RISES TO 34M (111 FEET) AND ITS LIGHT CAN BE SEEN AT A DISTANCE OF 22 MILES (35 KM). THE ASSOCIATED LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS' COTTAGES ARE OF THE USUAL STYLE FOR THE TIME, CONSTRUCTED OF WHITE-PAINTED ASHLAR WITH RAISED QUOINS.

THE FIRST KEEPER WAS REMOVED WHEN THE LIGHT STOPPED ROTATING AFTER HE HAD FALLEN ASLEEP ON DUTY. ORIGINALLY ILLUMINATED BY OIL LAMPS, THE LIGHTHOUSE WAS MODERNISED IN 1891 AND 1910. IN NOVEMBER 1970, SEVERAL PANES OF GLASS IN THE LAMP-ROOM WERE BROKEN WHEN THE SUPERSONIC AIRLINER CONCORDE PASSED BY ON TEST FLIGHT.

THE LIGHTHOUSE WAS AUTOMATED IN 1994 AND IS NOW REMOTELY MONITORED FROM EDINBURGH. THE FORMER KEEPERS' COTTAGES HAVE BEEN SOLD BY THE BOARD AND NOW FORM THE CORSEWALL LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL.

Excerpt from the article: The fifth and final mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), scheduled for launch on July 29, will deliver new research investigations to the International Space Station. The ATV-5 spacecraft bears the name of Belgian physicist Georges LemaĂźtre, who is considered to be the father of the big-bang theory. This final flight of the ATV program will deliver joysticks for robotic video games, new clothing, a new laser imaging system for spacecraft rendezvous and aquarium fish.

An MP73 métro set parked on track at Nation. This track is in use as a parking spot for a not in use métro train of line 6 but in fact it is a raccordement in between line 1 and 6. Seen from the station of Nation.

The end of the era of this metro equipment is in sight. We can enjoy the MP73 trains on metro line 6 for a while before they are replaced by the MP89 trains that are now running on line 4. Here at the Trocadero station.

Somewhere between now and 2023 line 6 will receive the current stock (renovated) of line 4, the MP-89-cc as line 4 will be an automated line. Plans for new equipment for line 6 (MP-14) are dropped.

MP 73

The MP 73 is a rubber tired variant of electric multiple units used on Paris's Métro system. The cars were delivered in 1974, when the RATP decided to convert Line 6 to rubber tyred pneumatic operation. The existing stock on Line 6 needed replacing at this time, and the line was converted to rubber tyred operation due to the lengthy open air viaduct sections of track, which generated much noise and vibration with older steel-wheeled rolling stock. The body design was based on the successful MF 67 stock. A total of 252 cars were built, six of which have subsequently been scrapped, leaving 246 cars. They were refurbished in 2000. Trains are formed into 5 car sets, and they continue to serve on Line 6.

One MP 73 currently runs on Line 11 in a four-car formation.

The ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) is ESA’s uncrewed resupply spacecraft for the ISS.

The mission of this “real world X-Wing” is not only to transport cargo and propellant, but also to reboost the Space Station into a higher orbit. Currently, it’s the most powerful resupply spacecraft with a cargo capacity of more than 6.5 tonnes.

The fourth ATV , named after the famous scientist Albert Einstein, will be launched today on an Ariane 5 rocket at ESA’s spaceport in Kourou.

You can read more about the ATV here:
