My personal addition to Skip's Autobot week.

Transformers Week

After taking all these shots I realized that had I forgotten to put that purple thingy back on Devastator's chest ( it fell off in transit ) - oh well!

Maybe Godziila ripped it off?

The Transformers Autobot medic Ratchet, in the classic boxy G1 style.

More coming soon.

A very boxy design in his Nissan Vanette altmode, the transformation and fitting on this worked out very sleak.

Love those Speed Champion parts, my seed elements that started that whole Transformers project madness.

Finally I managed to build a functional autobot that looks satisfying in both modes.

Enjoy the video of transformation sped up four times here.

For more pictures please go here.

Brothers in arms as altmode Lambo Countach, the botmode of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker is totally different.

Jazz built digital and physical, pictures of the full physical collection will follow soon.

This is taking so much time... :P

I think it was time to build a Transformer that has never been produced as a toy or for the storyline.

Also i wanted to build that car for a long time.

Well actually since i knew about the new light blue parts.

This will be my last creation for this year.

It´s also kind of an Anniversary creation

because i started building LEGO again

10 years ago and got a LEGO set that christmas.

When you know the Matchbox Superkings i grew up with

you propably also know why i pict light blue.

Enjoy life and the start of the new year.

Same Nissan Fairlady 240 Z altmode as Prowl and Smokescreen, just a bit different colors.

One if the more difficult bots.

The head turned out really nice including lightpiping for the eyes.

Dorvack repaint into Autobot Whirl, common thing back in the 80s.

Another of the minibots, Beachcomber is a cool little Bot, he transforms by extending his body lenght too, which was not easy on that scale.

Last of the Fairladies in Ralley altmode.

Another of the minibots, Seaspray comes in really classic Lego colors.

I have the physical model on my desk at the moment, he is fun to play with.

I noticed the new 8wide speed champion sets today and thought this would be a good model for a ralley challenge with that Audi, winners keep those new fancy 6wide windscreen/roof parts, best bit about the new sets, why 8 wide now, why always too late to the party......?

Brothers in arms as altmode Lambo Countach, the botmode of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker is totally different.

A bit redesign to the version i had in the book.

“FUNCTION: PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR

'I am the something strange in this neighborhood.'

On Cybertron, field work was completely foreign to Specter. He's an academic specializing in the study of sparks. Specifically, he was the galaxy's leading expert on mutant sparks - those capable of operating independent of a robotic shell. On Earth, field work is Specter's top priority. Partnered under the orders of Optimus Prime with four paranormal investigators, Specter has been able to see first hand how his academic study can be put into practice. Aiding these men has opened Specter's mind regarding the nature of the spark, and the similarities between organic and non-organic life. Additionally, his allies Spengler and Stantz have been able to make breakthroughs in their own work based off of Specter's research into the spark.”

The approach here was the same as I do with my other Transformers - LEGO city scale vehicle, upsized Kreon robot mode figure. Tried to follow the same pattern by thinking through what if it was a real Transformer, where would all the car parts end up? And how would the show interpret that as a character design? And then how would I translate that character design in LEGO?

Thinking about doing a series of these – 80s vehicles as Transformers characters that never were, but could have been in other franchises.

Alt and Botmode, basemode in the next picture.

Got to love Transformers, and my cool lamp (from Gayle for Christmas) keeps the good guys right on my desk.

Retooling and repainting was a big thing for Hasbro on the TF G1 line back in the 80s, thats for sure.

Does not look like it, but he was very complex to build.

The physical model is a lot of fun, with his chunky backpack.

Can you imagine i have all of those in physical model form already and working slowly through the digita versions.

Next up for sure instructions and who knows some animations maybe.... :)

If i can find a talented char rigger, i do not have to pay for sure :D

Triple changers are much fun to build!

Thanks to TBB for sharing my work:

The Autobots' chain of command. Somewhat inspired from Shepard Fairey's propaganda. Could've used a reflector looking at this in hindsight.

I wanted to build a boombox for ages, but having a robot is also nice, so why not combine those two things.

Transformers come in all shapes,

but i really enjoy the cassette bots a lot

and having Blaster in real life size,

makes it too good to be true.

The transformation is easy enough to have it this big i though and it worked out very well.

Instructions will follow soon.

We are going into a bit more special direction with this not very well known combiner, called Raiden.

Yukikaze is the 1st out of 6, his altmode reoresents the famous japanese bullet train shinkansen and also forms the foot of the combiner.

top half was originally white and since i've always disliked ultra magnus and optimus prime, i went all black! apparently, there's a nemesis prime and shattered glass version too.

hahaha.....

G Liner's very unique Facelift
