Montgomery Ward moved into University Mall around 1991-92, taking over the old Burdines building. The Auto Express was built in 1995. Closed since the chain's failure in late 2000-early 2001.

Customized Beetle.
Note the characteristic curved windscreen, typical for the 1303 Beetles. This feature was introduced in Aug. 1972, together with the bigger rear lights.

The driver - a female mechanic, obviously, times have moved on - has quite the arsenal of tools in that rear compartment. And yes - it does all fit in there!
She's also got a searchlight mounted to the rear of the car, so she can see what she's doing when helping stranded motorists at night. Like this guy here - maybe you can see which old set the car he's driving is an update of...? Coming soon :)

LaSalle was a brand of automobiles manufactured and marketed by General Motors' Cadillac division from 1927 through 1940. Alfred P. Sloan developed the concept for LaSalle and certain other General Motors' marques in order to fill pricing gaps he perceived in the General Motors product portfolio. Sloan created LaSalle as a companion marque for Cadillac. LaSalle automobiles were manufactured by Cadillac, but were priced lower than Cadillac-branded automobiles and were marketed as second-most prestigious marque in the General Motors portfolio.

Joseph Enning opened Mr. Wash's first car wash in Düsseldorf in 1964. In 1965, "Automatische Auto-Wasch-Geräte GmbH" was founded and converted into today's "Mr. Wash Autoservice AG" in 1974. The company is still majority owned (95 %) by the founding family, 5 % belong to independent shareholders.
The company has a total of 30 locations nationwide. Each branch has a textile washing line with up to 4 parallel belts. This makes several thousand washes at one location possible on peak days.

The roof lifts off for better access to the rear compartment. With a bit of clever packaging and fiddling around, it does all fit without blocking the doors.
