An old BP petrol station and an old Volvo 444

Welcome to Appleton City, Missouri! But if you need to have your car worked on...well, you might be outta luck!

From the deep archives: Montreal, 1970s.

An antique Gilbert & Barker gasoline pump from the early 1900's. The company is still a major producer of gas pumps under its new name, Gilbarco.

Socony was one of the many regional successors to the original Standard Oil Company, which was determined to be a monopoly and broken up in 1911. Socony was its New York State successor company and later became Mobil.

In this case two LP640s.

How often do you see that?

Which one do you prefer?

Expect some 60D-pictures in the near future...

Some small, last changes.

Added door handles, and the indication of a sliding door.

Toy Project Day 3250

I can't really imagine the need to have a car wash that's open around the clock, but there are several here in New York that I know of. I guess they cater mostly to taxi cabs and people who work on the overnight shifts.

This place looks kind of empty and lonesome but it is, in fact, open. New York truly is "The City that Never Sleeps"!

Thanks for looking, everybody!

The tire inflater at the #1 Standard Station.

I was really overwhelmed by this sight at Autoservice Schuttenbach.

Three Diablos next to each other...how often do you see that? Anyone got 4 in one picture?

So which one would you take?

This old Chevy is at Manning's Used Tires, Auto Sales, and Sheds. I've done business with them for about 10 years and have always found them to be fair, honest, and friendly. They love old Chevys and joke about Ford. They're on Gillespie Street, U.S. 301, Interstate Business 95 in Fayetteville, North Carolina in Cumberland County.

A different view of this local garage at dusk. This time I wanted to include both the outdoor and indoor gas pump globes in the glow of blue hour.

Garden equipment rentals in a summerhouse area in Vig, Denmark. It was a windy day so the leaves are a bit blurry. Photo is shot with the Kodak DCS Pro Back (digital back), Mamiya AFD II (camera body), and my favorite Mamiya AF 80mm f2.8 lens. Check out my blog post for a full review of the Kodak DCS 645 Pro Back.

It's a very interesting Lahti coach because it's 1 of only 2 that were built on Volvo's (then) new B9R chassis. Because of this, it sounded like a much more modern bus. Eagles were mainly built on Scania chassis and companies that preferred Volvo liked the older B12 better

I test drove a C5 Break. I was strongly considering to go for a change. Somewhat longing for some of that hydropneumatic magic once again. But even if I didn't crash the car, it was my insurance that had to pay out, so this cost me 5 of my 7 damage free years, that would make for quite a pricey insurance on a C5. On top of that, I am not comfortable D.I.Y.ing on hydropneumatic complexities.

No, let's stick to what I know serves me just right, practically and financially.

I introduce my third Series 1 Berlingo 1.6i 16V Multispace. Because I still like them better than the facelift model, most specifically, the interior. As it is just that bit more robust and 90's style PSA-like.

Anyway... Barn 3.0? No... If not another model, or even another color... let's go for a different name. The first two were called The Barn and Barn 2.0 because they had plenty of exterior damage. Giving them the shabby van look, which I like. But it's always nicer to drive something that looks a bit cleaner. Well, it's not perfect, and it doesn't need to be. It will be used for all it was intended to. But it sure is a lot less barn-like from the in and outside. The interior too, was sparkling clean... Stunning, for this type of vehicle!

It has done 253K, so it's been around already 10K more than my previous Berlingo. But it feels like it can do some more!

And so I present: Luna LuDoSPace!
