The Carr Fastener Company of Cambridge Massachusetts opened this Canadian factory in 1920.
The company made snap fasteners to hold the side curtains of early open top automobiles, as time went on manufacturing included fasteners for clothing as well as radio tube pins and sockets.
The company moved to Stoney Creek Ontario in the 1960's and continued on as a subsidiary of TRW until that plant closed in the mid 1990's.
This building now serves as a automobile service facility.

The Flying A gasoline brand was launched in the early 1930s and lasted until 1970, when it became part of Getty and later Texaco. There's a brief history of the brand at the Wikipedia link below.

Thirteen indicted in auto scams allegedly aimed at Native Americans.
PHOENIX (AP) - Thirteen car salesmen and managers have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to a multimillion-dollar fraud operation aimed largely at Native Americans.
By: Wire Service Jan 30, 2003 0
Defendants face 38 criminal counts stemming from sales at Joe Florek VW-Audi and Gray Mountain Auto Connection, both in northern Arizona, according to the indictment unsealed Tuesday.
The suspects allegedly defrauded Navajo and Hopi consumers, as well as more than a dozen lending institutions, wholesale auction businesses and warranty companies.
"This is the largest automotive fraud case ever charged in Arizona," said Mark Aspey, an assistant U.S. attorney.
The indicted men allegedly carried out multiple swindles. Among the scams identified in the indictment were falsifying customer loan applications, forging signatures, and purchasing vehicles at auction with bad checks.

This picture was taken at Schuttenbach during their Lamborghini service event. The guys at Schuttenbach were incredibly friendly and allowed me to shoot some customer's cars in their workshop. I hope you guys like the result!

Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings.
This is based on my old Minivan design from 2011, slightly modified to look more like an update of the original.

It's a very interesting Lahti coach because it's 1 of only 2 that were built on Volvo's (then) new B9R chassis. Because of this, it sounded like a much more modern bus. Eagles were mainly built on Scania chassis and companies that preferred Volvo liked the older B12M better

A beautiful white Lamborghini Gallardo at Schuttenbach. This is easily the most crazy and loudest Gallardo I have ever seen!
And it's actually NOT a Superleggera, but a wonderfully modified "standard" Gallardo. Even the interieur is modified "Superleggera-style".
How do you like the car?

Autopanne?
This very basic van was designed by André Lefèbvre and Pierre Franchiset, and introduced in 1946. Throughout its entire life the design stayed almost the same. Still we can recognize some changes.
Some characteristics of the early Phase I model: split windscreen (replaced in early 1964), big sized chevrons on the bonnet (changed to shorter ones in late 1964), semi-circular rear wings (replaced by rectangular ones in Nov. 1969), and a narrow vertical rear window with curved corners (changed to a wider square one in Sept. 1963).
Later models were called HY.

...and something rather special in the back. Anyone wants to see some pictures of the red beast behind?
Taken at Schuttenbach:
From Fire Tender to Tree Logger. This rare Alvis Salamander 6x6 former Fire Tender has been converted to a tree logger by her Worcestershire owners and was given a 1977 registration. The original motor in these was a Rolls-Royce B81 8-cylinder engine which produced 240 bhp and a semi-automatic gearbox was also fitted. A bit of a beast then.

Not a trace of this place remains in the present day. I had previously located where it was but either I made a minor mistake with the postcode or that postcode covers a lot of the village. Eventually I think I have worked out where it was - now converted into sympathetic modern housing - but there is a clear footprint of the island at the front of the site still showing on Streetview. In addition an older photo of a garage in Chudleigh Knighton posted onto Facebook shows there clearly was a garage here in the past.

Here's a close up view of the forecourt of this one time Anglo garage. You can see the full view below. It's a real shame the distinctive canopy was taken out and replaced with a standard one later on. The garage no longer sells fuel but is still operating for car sales. By the looks of the original building tucked in the middle of much subsequent development it had been a garage since the 1930s.

I actually wanted to keep this picture secret for quite some time but now I end up posting it as soon as I have finished the editing. I'm quite pleased with this picture, I have to say.
I'm really in love with this Diablo VT. Although itt has covered almost 90.000km it looks like it comes straight out of the factory. No single scratch! And just have a look at the black/yellow interieur!
Thanks to the incredibly friendly owner and all the guys at Schuttenbach who made it possible for me to take some pictures.
