This building was a garage for auto repairs in the 1940s-1950s on old US 80. Not sure what it was originally. No doubt it was built in the early years of the 20th century, and appears to be abandoned now.
The tire and repair shop located at this corner was torn down and has been replaced by apartments/affordable housing.

One of the cool things about this shop though was that the owners would put messages on the billboard (far right of this photo).

April 25, 2022: I drove past this this site yesterday and the condos/apartments are almost completed. While they're not as ugly as I anticipated, it still isn't as interesting looking as this joint and they're out of character with the neighborhood.
February 10, 2024: I went past this location yesterday on the way to Enterprise Car Rental next door (my car is in the shop).
The apartment/condo building that went up in this location, while out of character for the neighborhood, and blocking this view isn't as hideous as it could have been. Give it a little grime on the exterior bricks and it could look okay in a few years.
Possible scene you will see when you travel to Cuba ; Classic cars which are broken down in streets and Cuban who are trying to fix them

Miller's Garage was a successful early auto repair shop in the Houston Heights. This building was the original location built in the 1930s or 1940s. Miller sold this property and relocated to a more desirable location, and may still be in business. This building has now been demolished. I enjoyed driving by this old place because you could see right through the shop walls into the back yard.

What looks like it used to be a parts store in a lonely stretch of louisiana highway.

I believe this was a family owned auto repair/tire store probably from the early 1950s. The King family also owned a Texaco station, now and independent, that opened late 1940s to early 1950s next door on the left and is still in business. On the far right you can see a small portion of an old auto-court motel.
