Autofocus compact camera , made in Japan . Manual film transport and rewind , pop-up flash . Sliding door covering the lens plate .
Ad from Dutch photomagazine 1983 : " The new Pentax compact . Critical views allowed" .
The autofocus had trouble with the cosmetic disks. I caught up with them later, but this butterfly was a complete surprise.
Used for the 'I spy' game in the 'Colorful World' group.
Seconds after I took this he looked straight at me and took off, straight into my living room window. All I could do was sit and watch as he flew toward me almost in slow motion and then hit the glass. He looked a little dazed on the sill for a few seconds, then flew to mom who was sitting on the fence. Bless!
Autofocus failed me a little bit here but it's the best I can do with half my body hanging out the car. =)

A shepherd was looking after his sheep on the side of a deserted road. Suddenly a brand new Porsche screeches to a halt.
The driver, a young man dressed in an Armani suit, Ray Bans, Tag Heuer watch, White Cerutti shoes, tailor-made mauve shirt, with a Boss tie.
He gets out and asks the shepherd 'If I can guess how many sheep you have, can I keep one?'
The shepherd looks at the large flock of sheep and says 'Okay'.
The young man connects his laptop to his mobile phone/fax, enters the NASA website, scans the field using his GPS, opens the database linked to 60 Excel tables, filled with logarithms and pivot tables, then prints out a 150 page report on his high tech mini printer. He studies the reports and says to the shepherd 'You have 1586 sheep'.
The shepherd replies, 'That's correct. You can have the pick of my flock.'
The young man packs away his equipment, looks at the flock and puts one into the boot of the Porsche.
As he is about to leave, the Shepherd says, 'If I can guess what your profession is will you return the animal to me?'
The young man thinks for a minute and says 'Okay'.
The shepherd says 'You are a Management Consultant'.
The young man says 'Correct, how did you know?'
The Shepherd replied, 'Simple. First you came here without being invited. Second you charge me a fee for something I already knew. Third, you don't understand anything about my business.
Now, can I have my dog back?'
I turned off autofocus and set the lens to infinity. I set the camera to the infernal green box on the program knob to let it do all the thinking all night. I set my timer to shoot every 10 minutes. These are some of the shots from that night.

1/3 into light
After seeing my self-portrait emerge quickly and looking as good as it did, I quickly asked my sister-in-law Jessica, who was visiting to come up to the balcony for a portrait. She and her husband are moving to the DR at the end of the month and I wanted to get a nice instant portrait before she left.
This is the same set-up as before. 1/3 into light on my L/D wheel and indirect porch lighting.

I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

The Konica AF C35 was the first production autofocus camera, introduced in 1977. It used a Honeywell passive af system. Lens: Hexanon 38mm f/2.8, 4 elements in 3 groups.

Today brands are everything, and all kinds of products and services - from accounting firms to sneaker makers to restaurants - are figuring out how to transcend the narrow boundaries of their categories and become a brand surrounded by a Tommy Hilfiger-like buzz.

My to-do list using the AutoFocus system (for the AF group).
The book is a knock-off pocket moleskine. Right now I have two books of the same size - one for my AF list and one for my personal notes/journal. My plan is to downsize the personal journal once the one I'm using right now fills up, as the two books are a bit much to haul around with me.
Left-side pages are for personal tasks; right-side pages are for work tasks. The silver paperclip marks the first active page (and holds the ones behind it together); the yellow paperclip marks the page where I'm entering work tasks. There's a third paperclip that marks the page where I'm entering personal tasks. I was using the ribbon bookmark to mark the page I was working on but it ripped out of the book yesterday. :^( For the moment, I don't have THAT many active pages so it's not really hard to find my place, though.
ETA: No, there's no meaning to the color an item is written in - just whatever pen I happened to grab at the moment.

The Konica C35 AF rangefinder, introduced in 1977 was the first production autofocus camera and used the Honeywell developed passive autofocus system (still in use today). The image was sensed via the windows above the lens by two multi segment photocells on a Honeywell IC. Two mirrors, one fixed and one moving, directed the images through a prism onto the sensor IC. Image contrasts were compared giving focus information.
Before it joined with Konica, Minolta thought it had autofocus IP through Leica, but infringed Honeywell's patents starting with the 7000 SLR in 1985 and ended up paying $127.5M in a 1992 settlement.

The the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory is on all the Gold 45 Revolver lingerie & swimsuits/shirts/etc.: dx4/dt=ic. Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! :) You can read more about my research and Hero's Journey Physics here:
herosjourneyphysics.wordpress.com/ MDT PROOF#2: Einstein (1912 Man. on Rel.) and Minkowski wrote x4=ict. Ergo dx4/dt=ic--the foundational equation of all time and motion which is on all the shirts and swimsuits. Every photon that hits my Nikon D800e's sensor does it by surfing the fourth expanding dimension, which is moving at c relative to the three spatial dimensions, or dx4/dt=ic !
