Again I was just playing about with the fisheye lens and the a bit of custom H.D.R. What I like about this is the rain drops really add to the affect. This one looks best on black so please press .L. And enjoy.

I shot 3 images in Malibu that I really wish would have come out better, but they were dark. My SX-70 usually is spot on when shooting in the center of the L/D wheel, but this time it wasn't the case.
I've been sick for a couple of days, but it's been nagging on me to see if lightening the exposure on the 10/15 batch would help. So, dressed in my best clothes I framed this up and went 1 notch into the light...and it's a lot better! I still like Gen2 Color better, but at least the rest of my pack of 10/15 will work out.
The funny thing for comic nerds out there is that my hoodie is a Quicksilver brand. ;)

Wednesday's Theme: Street Portraits
Last Thursday is held on the last Thursday of each month in the Alberta area of Portland. This time it covered 30 blocks and had a wonderful selection of artists and performers lining the blocks.
I noticed this guy with his Dachshund on his shoulder, before I noticed his mustache. Since we have a mini dachshund, I stopped to say hi to this dog. I found out that Spencer rescued the little pup, just like we did our dachsie, and that she loved to sit on his shoulder...just like our Fin does.
I asked if I could take their portrait, and he said sure, and his little friend turned to give him some love just at the right time.

These are some Instant Images I took at the Film Photography Podcast Walking Workshop III in San Clemente. It's too bad the pods on most of these were bad, because the colors came out great in the 80+ F heat.

Temp was in the 70's and since I didn't have my bag with me, it developed (warmly) in my back pocket, hence the warmer tones.
The patterns and shadows were at play today. It was a pattern I've been playing with and capturing it with different cameras and different focal lengths, but it seems like most of my ideas in recent memory are coming to fruition when using TIP film.

The pretty model goddess with blue-green eyes and sandy brown hair with blond highlights was modeling a red 45SURF shirt and Goln'N'Virtue Gold 45 Revolver lingerie! Wearing cutoff blue jeans with a leather buffalo nickel cowboy hat and black snakeskin cowboy boots!
The Colt 45 Revolver comes directly form Clint Eastwood's/Sergio Leone's Fistful of Dollars--my favorite Western--heck my favorite all-time film, exalting the classical, archetypal themes I seek in all my photography!
She was tall, tan, thin, pretty, and fit with gorgeous blue eyes and long, long legs! Shot with the new D800E and my favorite workhorse lens the very sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. A slight change of pace for all my flickr fans!

One thing I love is candid shots; this one was in Times Square in New York City. This couple was not very far from me; the man barely moved but the woman with him had her head going back and forth for what seemed like countless minuets, looking and discussing the people within the clammoring of the area. Time Square has a plethora of eccentric characters and she in turn became one of them for me. With my setting on HDR this created a very cool effect & remains one of my favorites from NYC

Das Ergebnis: begeisternd!
Test of the combination Sigma 2.8/120-300 with FTZII on the Z9 regarding autofocus with animal/eye detection. Under difficult conditions, with water drops and fast movements (body and head of the water birds).
The result: inspiring!

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!
