The seven-day Auto Expo, which drew to a close on Monday, had over 3 million visitors & automobile enthusiasts who came to
experience the fastest, strongest, toughest and the largest to step on the roads.
Organized by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India ( ACMA ) & Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII ) the Autoexpo showcases India's growing dominance in the automotive field.

The first time the OC Auto Show threw open its doors, the Beatles dominated radio, hamburgers cost 19 cents and the Ford Mustang had just come on the market.
The heart of any Abarth is the engine, and this one pushes out nearly 60 percent more hp than the standard 500, with 160 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque.
And, it'll have you doing 0-60mph in only 6.8 seconds.
Not bad, considering the car weighs slightly more than 2500 lbs.

“The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current ‘C6’ generation,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Global Marketing and Strategy for Chevrolet.
The Corvette 427 Convertible blends elements of the Z06 and ZR1 models to create the fastest and most-capable convertible in Corvette’s history.
The weight reduction brings the 427 convertible's curb weight to 3,355 pounds (1,522 kg). Combined with its 505-horsepower LS7 engine, it gives the 427 convertible a power-to-weight ratio of 6.64 or one horsepower for every 6.64 pounds of vehicle mass. That's better than:
* Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet-6.90
* Audi R8 5.2 RSI Spyder-7.58
* Aston Martin DBS Volante Convertible-7.82
* Ferrari California Convertible-8.31

This plant, which will produce the Tata's small car Nano, has recently come under fire from farmers and villagers for forcefull acquisition of agricultural land. The ruling Communist Goverment in the state used strong police force to intimidate poor farmers and grabbed 1013 acres of land. And as the farmers start committing suicide, modern India eagerly waits for the One-lakh car to roll out in mid-October 2008.

Se encendieron los motores con el arranque del “Salón del Automóvil de Centroamérica”, para presentar todo un abanico de opciones que satisfarán los gustos de los amantes de los automóviles.
La oportunidad para elegir un modelo nuevo está abierta para todos los que buscan darle un cambio a sus vidas y conducir con un estilo propio, de acuerdo a sus gustos, deseos y capacidades. La Autoexpo nació bajo la iniciativa de José Carlos Liévano, quien formó parte de la junta directiva de la Asociación Salvadoreña de Distribuidores de Vehículos (ASALVE) en el año 2000.
El Salvador recobró sus brillos con la inauguración de la VII Autoexpo, con toda la familia de distribuidores de carros que, después de cinco años, presentan todas las propuestas de las 17 distribuidoras nacionales que han llevado a la gala los carros más innovadores, modernos, tecnológicos, deportivos y potentes.
Las perspectivas
Las distribuidoras de vehículos tienen la confianza en que la Autoexpo será el medio que ayude ha impulsar nuevamente el mercado automotriz local y que se logre una temporada de éxitos importantes con este evento.
Jorge Díaz Salazar, presidente de ASALVE, reveló que serán 28 marcas las que invaden la fiesta nacional del automóvil y que los que se apasionan por los autos podrán satisfacer todos sus “sentidos” con la gama de modelos que podrán observar, sentir y disfrutar.
La fiesta, que comenzó ayer, continuará hasta el próximo 14 de octubre en las instalaciones del Centro Internacional de Ferias y Convenciones (CIFCO), cuyas puertas estarán abiertas para que todos disfruten, no solo autos nuevos, sino también de otras atractivas exhibiciones.
La primera Autoexpo se realizó en 1998; desde entonces, han pasado 14 años desde que ASALVE y CIFCO han sido los que han permitido con su unión la realización de uno de los eventos automotrices más completos de la región.
Y en las últimas ediciones, revista Motor City ha sido parte de la gala como la revista oficial del showroom, manteniendo su filosofía de apoyar todos los eventos relevantes que envuelven el mundo de los automotores.
Una fiesta para todos
Los motores ya suenan en CIFCO, todo está listo para recibir a los salvadoreños que gustan de la ingeniería mecánica, el diseño automotriz y la innovación tecnológica con la realización de la Autoexpo 2012.
Son 10 días de mucha emoción, de actividades por cada rincón y lanzamientos programados para complementar una fiesta que desde hace tiempo se esperaba que regresara.
Las estrellas principales son los sedanes, los autos premium, las SUV, los carros utilitarios, las motos y autos deportivos que las distribuidoras nacionales han dispuesto exponer en la presente edición.
Cada miembro de la familia tiene su espacio dentro de la Autoexpo, porque existen diferentes áreas destinadas para otras exposiciones, como la muestra de autos clásicos, modificados, militares y línea comercial.
Asimismo, será una buena oportunidad para cambiar el auto o adquirir el primero, ya que en la Autoexpo se cuentan con diferentes financieras para tramitar el crédito para la adquisición del modelo que más le guste a los que quieren aprovechar la fiesta automotriz nacional. También, se podrán encontrar distribuidoras de repuestos, accesorios y aseguradoras, todo en un solo lugar.
