One of the nice things living in San Carlos is that it feels like you're living in a gorgeous, mountain retreat. Who would think that this is in the middle of Silicon Valley, just half an hour to either San Francisco or San Jose? Truly blessed to live here...

The church used to stand at Dvergasteinn farm and in 1882 it was moved to Vestdalseyri. At first the church stood on a hill overlooking Vestdalseyri but in 1894 it was blown over and damaged by a huge storm. The church was rebuilt, this time down on the peninsula and stood there until 1920 when the decision was made to move to its present location in the heart of Seyðisfjörður. In 1989 the Blue Church was damaged by fire when renovation work was being carried out on the building and a pipe organ that was installed in 1987 was ruined by the flames. Today the Blue Church has a pipe organ of the same type as the one that was lost to the fire.

Somewhere out Koo Wee Rup way

Before joining the Trey Ratcliff photowalk in Philadelphia this past August, I had to stop off at IBG. What better shot to use to test out Trey's new software, AuroraHDR.

Washington Square Park, NY.

Here are a few scenes from Lloret de Mar. One of my favorite things to do is walk around and take photos of night scenes. I guess you could call it a type of street photography. I like capturing people enjoying themselves in cafes. I also love leading lines, and so I look for people walking down alleyways illuminated with overhead lights.

These are all from our first night in Spain after landing in Barcelona. Of course, we were tired after the redeye flight. But, because our body clocks were 6 hours earlier, we felt fine. So we walked along the streets and shops, stopping for dessert and coffee. Nevermind it was the end of summer, it was warm, and the cafes were full of people talking and enjoying themselves. It was a happy experience.

Anyway, this type of photography wouldn't be the same without people in it. I enjoy being in places where people are relaxed and having fun milling about, socializing with friends and family. These photos try to capture some of that.

Lensbaby Edge 80

This is a wide angle view of the Gulf of Mexico I took from Emerson Point in Florida. I made this with the new Laowa 12mm f/2.8 lens that was created through the help of a Kickstarter. The claim to fame on this lens is that there is no distortion.Generally we use software to remove the distortion of a wide lens, but in this case it’s not necessary. Anyway, it’s cool in a geeky kind of way. Read more goo.gl/ELsU5e

Sunset at the South Dakota Wild Horse Sanctuary south of Hot Springs, SD. Dust created by the horses running and than stopping at the top of a hill to give this image an orange smokey effect as the sun was setting.

The city of Tutayev (13th century founded) is situated on the both coasts of Volga river, so you have to take a ferry or a small commercial boat to get from one side to another. There is no bridge there.
