The Old Town area of Bilbao was all about the narrow streets and tall buildings with colourful architecture.

It goes without saying, Big Hunting Creek is big with hunters. However, the only thing I was hunting for was a waterfall.

In fact, I was looking for Cunningham Falls State Park. As it turned out, it's just up the creek, which I eventually got to, without a paddle.

This is a long exposure that I made using a tripod and an aperture of F-22. It's a good thing it wasn't windy; otherwise, the leaves would have come out blurry. Scenes like this are gratifying for me, and exactly why I love photography in the first place.

A shot of the top of what I think is the tallest waterfall in Plitvice Jezera National Park, Croatia.

Back in the days of the gold-rush this was the red light district of the town of Ketchikan. Those days are long gone but naturally there are recreated saloons and bordellos along with souvenir shops. I took this as I walked around the town on a rainy day. more goo.gl/kl0Z6F

Here's another perspective of the sandstone formations I saw while visiting Wisconsin Dells. We took a boat tour up the river and made a couple of stops to see the formations. These are the kind of things I'd expect to see in Arizona, not Wisconsin.

We were here at the hottest time of the year. It's funny because when we leave Florida in the summer and head north, we expect we'll be getting moderate weather. During peak summer months, that's not the case; it's hot all over.

To create the star effect I set the aperture to f16 and positioned myself with the sun peeking out. F16 makes the aperture opening very small, and that creates a flaring or starlike effect with bright lights. However, it was so sunny I couldn't be sure it worked until a few weeks later when I got home to look at the results on a monitor. Here, in the comfort of A/C, I can confirm we have a hit.

Loved that Album.....

Gigondas is a town in southern France known for its wine. But then, we could say that for just about every village in France.

They are sticklers for doing things the old way, and the wine from here is famous around the world. A funny little story: about a week after I returned home I was in a small store in my hometown, and they had Gigondas wine. I wasted no time bragging that I had just been there.

Nevertheless, this image is a three frame HDR that I processed in the new Aurora HDR 2019 from Skylum. I prepared it in color so that the details weren't washed out and then, for the last step, converted it to monochrome. For me, the memories are of the textures in the walls, gardens, and walkways.

Pink Super Moon

Last night was a 'Pink Super Moon', there is a bit of a misconception that this means the moon is actually pink but the name is derived because the fool moon occurs around the time of April when the moss pink, or wild ground phlox is typically in blossom (in northern hemisphere). The Super moon phrase is because the moon is at the closest point to earth in its monthly orbit.

This photo was taken last night (to compliment the significant number of moon photos on the net). Image was captured with a Nikon D610 and Tamron 150-600mm (@ 600mm), 1/3200, f/6.3, ISO 1250. Image is a HDR blend of three photos which was edited in Aurora HDR before being finished off in Luminar 4 (AI Enhance & Micro Structure). Sadly the image is not great as (among other reasons) the highlights are a bit blown out as I should have bracketed a greater number of images.

Another shot edited using a combination of Jim Nix's new presets for Aurora 2017 and a bit of photoshop to remove the sensor dust.

The Lady Chapel in St Albans Abbey just screamed at me for the light that was coming in through the end, gave such a mood even to the naked eye. Hand-held so the grain is a bit more than I'd like, but conveys the atmosphere of the area rather nicely.

An oil refinery's terminal juts out into the San Pablo Bay at the northern end of the San Francisco Bay and appears to float on a sea of liquid gold during the twilight hour after sunset.
