My first visit to Hintersee, Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany. Taken during early Autumn.
Mostly one bracket processed with AuroraHDR, with just a touch from a few others to get more of the light (which you can hardly see) on the mountain, as this was moving.

While at an overlook along the river bank and looking to the west while walking the Santa Elena Canyon Trail. My thinking in composing this image was to follow ideas I’d seen on Flickr and Instagram where one captures an image of a compass in hand and then a view beyond. Here I used the Santa Elena Canyon with the Rio Grande flowing by as the backdrop for the compass in my hand. I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 5 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.

The view from the pulpit into the choir and beyond in St Paul's Cathedral. Oh to have been able to use a tripod, this was a handheld shot at ISO 3200 so apologies for the lack of sharpness and graininess. Was an awesome place to visit though, that's for sure.

"A la pâle clarté des lampes languissantes, sur de profonds coussins tout imprégnés d'odeur, Hippolyte rêvait aux caresses puissantes qui levaient le rideau de sa jeune candeur."

This was located on a more southern section of the Tree Farm Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. There's a lot of thoughts I had with this image. One was Alberta and this pole lined stretch of highway one might come across in Banff National Park. The trees just stretch on to a far off horizon with a path/road ahead to "lead" the way. Another was just how amazing this sight was with trees all around...and a reason for my caption.
For the image, I found composing a matter of finding that angle with my Nikon SLR camera to look ahead but also use include some foreground to sweep ahead with the eyes (angling upward wasn't really an option with the overcast skies). Metering though was much more of a challenge given what I imagined was a large dynamic range. I could expose for those little areas of highlights and then really have to work pulling the more shadowed area out (and dealing with a color cast) or the visa versa. I decided on a mean exposure location off in the distance and then adjusted my shutter speed to match that.
For post production, I decided to use Aurora HDR Pro and bring out a TIFF image with a large dynamic range that I could then work with in Capture NX2 with color control points to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted. I then added a Foliage and Sunshine CEP filter to give that little bit extra for the final image.
