While walking the Santa Elena Canyon Trail with a view looking to the southeast and across the border with Mexico on the image right. I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 5 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.

What we thought might turn out to be a wasted journey across town turned into one of the highlights of the trip. The Plaza de Toros was due to close at 1:30pm, and we didn't make it until 15mins before. Asking to see inside we were told to simply ring the bell, and were let in without fuss or fanfare and free to roam at will. And what an opportunity.
Built originally in 1886 this is an incredible round stadium. Eerily quiet when we were there with barely another person to be seen, you could almost hear the history and the events that would have unfolded here. While I may not agree with the idea of bullfighting, it was hard not to be wowed by the setting. Just thinking about 15,000 people in this old stdium cheering and shouting, the noise must be immense.
One thing is for sure, it was a fitting environment to be the playground of the matador...hence the title.

An image captured while walking the Sinkhole Trail and the many other network of trails to the west of the Visitor Center in Mammoth Cave National Park. There were trees all around and above me making for a wondrous view to walk underneath. I knew that there would be a large dynamic range given the brightness of the overcast skies compared to the more shadowed areas underneath this tree canopy. I did the best I could in finding a good enough shutter speed to capture what was present, knowing that there would probably be no details worth capturing and keeping from the skies above. I did decide though to bring this image into Aurora HDR 2019 so that I could see what I might be able to bring out with a more vibrant and full range of colors. I then exported the TIFF image to Capture NX2 where I was able to do some work with color control points and control points for the final image here.

Sunset at Pantai Tengah, Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.
This was a quick initial test of AuroraHDR. Accidentally used jpegs rather than raws, but don't think that would make much difference given it had 7 exposures to work from. Really quite a hasty edit, but as good as I was expecting from an automatic exposure blending tool like this. Further refined in Photoshop of course.

I really liked the grass mixed in with the waterfall in the foreground (common with these waterfalls caused by limestone deposits), which with a long exposure remind me of a hillside smothered with snow - and also wanted to include the upper teirs which were sun soaked as I was really having the worst weather for my Bavaria/Slovenia/Croatia trip (empty clear skies while doing open landscapes, and then raining/cloudy when i was in gorges!).
Through the use of bracketing and HDR, I was able to expose for both the dark and light teirs, and then combine with AuroraHDR.
These are the upper waterfalls at Krka national park, Croatia.
And so endeth our Valencian adventure, ironically back where we began at Alameda Metro Station. This shot was taken at platform level giving a different perspective to the first shot in the series, which was taken at the top of the escalator seen in this picture.
