Le bâtiment historique de la Holland America Line (HAL), ou terminal de croisière, est un lieu emblématique de Rotterdam. Dans les années 1950, des milliers de migrants partaient d'ici pour rejoindre l'Amérique en bateau à vapeur, en quête d'un avenir meilleur. Son emplacement stratégique sur le quai Wilhelmina se transforme rapidement en un quartier de grande qualité au cœur de la ville.
Face à l'augmentation annuelle du nombre de navires de croisière faisant escale ici, une adaptation du bâtiment existant était devenue inévitable. Le port de Rotterdam a donc confié la rénovation et la modernisation de ce monument national à son équipe.
La valeur historique a joué un rôle primordial dans le processus de restauration, qui visait à restituer l'aspect originel du bâtiment. Cet objectif a été atteint grâce à la conception de nouveaux profilés d'acier pour la façade monumentale et à l'installation d'éléments vitrés monumentaux et d'un film acoustique. Le caractère monumental se reflète également dans la peinture caractéristique. S'inspirant des couleurs et des matériaux d'époque, la palette proposée évoque l'état du bâtiment au début des années 1950.
La galerie publique donnant sur la Meuse est dotée d'un nouveau revêtement de sol et d'un éclairage de façade subtilement intégré. Les arches monumentales font désormais partie intégrante, même la nuit, de la silhouette emblématique du Wilhelminapier.
Le bâtiment Las Palmas à Rotterdam,
ancien entrepôt de la Holland-America Line, a été transformé en un complexe culturel et de bureaux. Il a été conçu par l'architecte Van den Broek en 1953, puis rénové en 2007 par Benthem Crouwel Architecten, qui a ajouté une structure en « penthouse » au sommet. The historic Holland America Line (HAL) building, or cruise terminal, is an iconic Rotterdam landmark. In the 1950s, thousands of migrants departed from here on steamships bound for America in search of a better future. Its strategic location on the Wilhelmina Quays quickly transformed it into a high-quality district in the heart of the city. With the annual increase in the number of cruise ships calling here, adapting the existing building became inevitable. The Port of Rotterdam therefore entrusted the renovation and modernization of this national monument to its team.
Historical value played a central role in the restoration process, which aimed to recreate the building's original appearance. This was achieved through the design of new steel profiles for the monumental facade and the installation of monumental glass elements and an acoustic film. The monumental character is also reflected in the distinctive paintwork. Drawing inspiration from period colors and materials, the proposed palette evokes the building's appearance in the early 1950s.
The public gallery overlooking the Meuse River features new flooring and subtly integrated facade lighting. The monumental arches are now an integral part of the Wilhelminapier's iconic silhouette, even at night.
The Las Palmas building in Rotterdam, a former warehouse for the Holland-America Line, has been transformed into a cultural and office complex. Designed by architect Van den Broek in 1953, it was renovated in 2007 by Benthem Crouwel Architecten, who added a penthouse structure to the roof. Today, it houses, among other things, the Nederlands Fotomuseum (National Photography Museum of the Netherlands) and a cultural space called LP II, while retaining its industrial atmosphere. [FR] Encore cet hiver nous avons eu l’occasion d’observer l’aigle royal dans le ciel Val-Gatinois. J’ai eu la chance de différencier au minimum trois individus, soit 2 adultes et un sub-adulte. Les observations semblent plus fréquentes d’années en année dans certains secteurs sud de la province. Serait-ce en lien avec les hivers de plus en plus cléments et/ou une légère augmentation des effectifs de la population de l’est? On peut spéculer.
[EN] This winter again we had the opportunity to spot golden eagles in Vallée-de-la-Gatineau’s sky. I had the chance to differentiate at least three individuals: 2 adults and a sub-adult. Sightings seem to be more frequent from year to year in certain of our Province’s southern areas. Could this be related to the increasingly mild winters and/or a slight increase in the eastern population?

Une nouvelle étude révèle que nos émissions de gaz à effet de serre ont un impact plus important sur le réchauffement climatique que le prédisait le GIEC.
Ce n'est plus une surprise pour personne, du moins en dehors des recoins obscurs de certains réseaux sociaux : la banquise fond. Pendant des décennies, l'Arctique a servi d'exemple pour illustrer notre impact sur le climat terrestre. Et plus elle disparaît, plus la communauté scientifique exhorte les sociétés à faire plus d'efforts.
L'humanité est responsable de la quasi-totalité de la fonte des glaces
Une étude récente, dirigée par Seung-Ki Min, de l'université de Pohang, en Corée du Sud, a établi de nouvelles estimations de la fonte de la glace de mer arctique, sur la base de nouvelles données. Les résultats de son équipe ajoutent une couche supplémentaire à un alarmisme général : la banquise fond beaucoup plus vite qu'on ne le craignait.
En effet, le GIEC (Groupe d'experts intergouvernemental sur l'évolution du climat) avait prédit que la région perdrait sa glace d'été d'ici aux années 2040. Cette nouvelle étude est encore plus pessimiste, puisqu'elle affirme que cela pourrait se produire dix ans plus tôt. Il s'agit d'un repère intéressant, car c'est à la fin de cette saison que la banquise atteint son minimum annuel.
Pour parvenir à cette conclusion, l'équipe de Min a d'abord examiné l'impact de l'augmentation des gaz à effet de serre sur la fonte des glaces par rapport à d'autres facteurs naturels. Selon les chercheurs, l'humanité en est responsable à hauteur de 90 %. Le reste serait imputable aux variations de l'intensité solaire ou aux éruptions volcaniques, par exemple.
Un impact humain aussi important sur la fonte des glaces signifie que les efforts requis pour ralentir suffisamment le réchauffement climatique ont peut-être été sous-estimés jusqu'à présent. Pour Min, « nous devons réduire les émissions de CO₂ de manière plus ambitieuse et nous préparer à nous adapter à ce réchauffement plus rapide de l'Arctique ». En effet, son étude établit que, même si la hausse de la température globale est limitée à 2 °C, la glace d'été aura tout de même disparu d'ici à 2050.
Et le chercheur de rappeler les effets que cela aura sur notre climat : « une augmentation des phénomènes météorologiques extrêmes que nous connaissons actuellement, tels que les vagues de chaleur, les incendies de forêt et les inondations ». En effet, la fonte des glaces entraîne des modifications du jet stream qui traverse l'hémisphère nord, un courant d'air rapide qui participe à réguler le climat en Amérique du Nord, en Europe et en Asie.
Mark Serreze, directeur du National Snow and Ice Data Center de l'université du Colorado, résume plutôt bien la situation : « Le message clé est que nous sommes en train de perdre le contrôle de la banquise ». D'autant que, plus l’océan est exposé, plus il absorbe la chaleur, entraînant ainsi un cercle vicieux qui sera toujours plus difficile et long à inverser, voire arrêter.
Bien sûr, il ne s'agit pas de renoncer à la transition énergétique, qui évolue rapidement, car un réchauffement global au-dessus de 2 °C pourrait avoir des conséquences bien plus désastreuses.

IT IS TOO LATE TO SAVE THE SUMMER SEA ICE IN THE ARCTIC AND THE REPERCUSSIONS WILL BE LITERALLY CATASTROPHIC !
A new study reveals that our greenhouse gas emissions have a greater impact on global warming than predicted by the IPCC.
This is no longer a surprise to anyone, at least outside the dark corners of certain social networks: the sea ice is melting. For decades, the Arctic has served as an example to illustrate our impact on the Earth's climate. And the more it disappears, the more the scientific community urges societies to do more.
Humanity is responsible for almost all of the ice melting
A recent study, led by Seung-Ki Min of Pohang University in South Korea, has come up with new estimates of Arctic sea ice melt, based on new data. His team's results add another layer to general alarmism: the sea ice is melting much faster than feared.
Indeed, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) had predicted that the region would lose its summer ice by the 2040s. This new study is even more pessimistic, since it claims that this could happen ten years earlier. This is an interesting landmark, because it is at the end of this season that the pack ice reaches its annual minimum.
To reach this conclusion, Min's team first looked at the impact of increased greenhouse gases on melting ice compared to other natural factors. Humankind is responsible for 90% of this, researchers say. The rest would be attributable to variations in solar intensity or volcanic eruptions, for example.
Such a large human impact on melting ice means that the efforts required to sufficiently slow global warming may have been underestimated until now. For Min, "we need to reduce CO₂ emissions more ambitiously and prepare to adapt to this faster warming of the Arctic". Indeed, his study establishes that, even if the increase in global temperature is limited to 2°C, summer ice will still have disappeared by 2050.
And the researcher recalls the effects that this will have on our climate: "an increase in the extreme weather phenomena that we are currently experiencing, such as heat waves, forest fires and floods". Indeed, the melting of the ice leads to changes in the jet stream that crosses the northern hemisphere, a rapid air current that helps regulate the climate in North America, Europe and Asia.
Mark Serreze, director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado, sums it up pretty well: "The key message is that we are losing control of the sea ice." Especially since, the more the ocean is exposed, the more it absorbs heat, thus resulting in a vicious circle which will be always more difficult and longer to reverse, or even stop.
Of course, this is not about giving up on the rapidly evolving energy transition, as global warming above 2°C could have far more dire consequences.
HOWEVER, 2030 IS LESS THAN TEN YEARS AWAY, AND ON THE SCALE OF OUR SOCIETY, THAT MEANS... TOMORROW !!!

Avec ses 500 places, le cinéma Lumière est l'un des plus grands des Pays-Bas
Bien que le bâtiment de la Bogaardenstraat/Capucijnengang, avec son café-cinéma intime, ait été perçu comme ayant une atmosphère agréable, l'hébergement est devenu trop exigu. Il fallait plus de capacité, un plus grand espace de réunion et un café-restaurant à part entière. On a trouvé cela dans certains des bâtiments d'usine vacants du Royal Sphinx , situés sur le Bassin et le canal Zuidwillemsvaart . La rénovation du monument national, qui a duré plus de deux ans , a été retardée car on a découvert plus d'amiante que prévu. Deux des bâtiments disponibles (les chaufferies) ont dû être démantelés et reconstruits en raison de leur mauvais état structurel. Le coût total s'est élevé à environ 11 millions d'euros. Le financement des nouvelles places de cinéma a été utilisé par financement participatif . Après trois semaines d'essais, le nouveau Lumière a été officiellement inauguré le 14 octobre 2016. En 2017, première année complète d'ouverture du nouveau cinéma, le cinéma a attiré 142 000 visiteurs, soit une augmentation d'environ 40 % par rapport aux années précédentes. La tendance à la hausse s'est poursuivie : en 2018, près de 143 000 spectateurs ont visité le cinéma ; en 2025, ce nombre était passé à 173 000
The Lumière Cinema is located in the heart of Maastricht, the Netherlands. This experimental craft was designed with the intention of drastically increasing survivability of pilots. It features a completely-enclosed hard shell cockpit area that completely shields the pilot and also allows the use of an experimental gamma-infused cannon since the armored enclosure also protects against most radiation types.
The downside of this cockpit layout means that this craft can only be piloted by pilots who have the necessary cybernetic neural implants (cyborgs and synthetic humanoids) to be able to directly interface with the ship’s exterior sensors. Fully organic pilots with no cybernetic augmentation are unable to pilot this craft as they would be literally and figuratively flying blind behind the controls.

Le bâtiment historique de la Holland America Line (HAL), ou terminal de croisière, est un lieu emblématique de Rotterdam. Dans les années 1950, des milliers de migrants partaient d'ici pour rejoindre l'Amérique en bateau à vapeur, en quête d'un avenir meilleur. Son emplacement stratégique sur le quai Wilhelmina se transforme rapidement en un quartier de grande qualité au cœur de la ville.
Face à l'augmentation annuelle du nombre de navires de croisière faisant escale ici, une adaptation du bâtiment existant était devenue inévitable. Le port de Rotterdam a donc confié la rénovation et la modernisation de ce monument national à son équipe.
La valeur historique a joué un rôle primordial dans le processus de restauration, qui visait à restituer l'aspect originel du bâtiment. Cet objectif a été atteint grâce à la conception de nouveaux profilés d'acier pour la façade monumentale et à l'installation d'éléments vitrés monumentaux et d'un film acoustique. Le caractère monumental se reflète également dans la peinture caractéristique. S'inspirant des couleurs et des matériaux d'époque, la palette proposée évoque l'état du bâtiment au début des années 1950.

The historic Holland America Line (HAL) building, or cruise terminal, is an iconic Rotterdam landmark. In the 1950s, thousands of migrants departed from here on steamships bound for America in search of a better future. Its strategic location on the Wilhelmina Quays quickly transformed it into a high-quality district in the heart of the city. With the annual increase in the number of cruise ships calling here, adapting the existing building became inevitable. The Port of Rotterdam therefore entrusted the renovation and modernization of this national monument to its team.
Historical value played a central role in the restoration process, which aimed to recreate the building's original appearance. This was achieved through the design of new steel profiles for the monumental facade and the installation of monumental glass elements and an acoustic film. The monumental character is also reflected in the distinctive paintwork. Drawing inspiration from period colors and materials, the proposed palette evokes the building's appearance in the early 1950s.

A La Réunion, les larves de guêpes sont un mets très recherché. Consommées frites dans l'huile ou en sauce, les nids se vendent très cher sur le bord des routes. Malheureusement, ces guêpes sont de grandes consommatrices de chenilles en tout genre ainsi que de cochenilles. Elle jouent donc un rôle très important pour limiter les populations de ravageurs des cultures. La disparition des guêpes, entraînerait une augmentation de l'utilisation des pesticides chimiques qui détruisent toute forme de vie.

On Reunion Island, wasp larvae are a highly sought-after delicacy. Eaten fried in oil or in sauce, the nests are sold at a high price on the roadside. Unfortunately, these wasps are major consumers of caterpillars of all kinds, as well as scale insects. They therefore play a very important role in limiting crop pest populations. The disappearance of wasps would lead to an increase in the use of chemical pesticides, which destroy all forms of life.
[15:53] Fenna DeCuir had followed him a while, cris crossing the place and eventually she walked right up to him. When she came to a halt, there was still a respectable distance between the two. Eyes narrowed as she titled her head from the right to the left, eyeing him. ''YEAH FUCKFACE BETTER DROP THAT WEAPON. WOULD HATE TO END UP SHOOTING YOU IN THE HEAD WITH IT INSTEAD OF CHOKING YOU WITH YER LARGE INTESTINE!'' she called out loud enough for the scientist to hear.
[15:56] Laurick Scarbridge just held the rifle up on his shoulder as he looked at Fenna with a quirked brow. The red head tapped the body of the rifle on the side of his head, smiling brightly as that woman blocked his path. He continued to move forward without much regard for her and leaned forward when he arrived at the first bump - leaning forward as he tilted his head, "Oh my, you. I wasn't expecting /you/ just yet. Not in this weather!" he said as the rain hit the waters that surroudned them.
[15:59] Fenna DeCuir: ''The weather, reflects my mood. It rains. I want it to be raining men.'' she paused, dark twinkle in her eyes. ''Dead men.'' she wouldnt move back as he walked closer, nor would she move towards him. Hand reached down and she unhooked the heavy chain from her thighband. Only to wrap the first couple of shackles around the knuckles of her right hand. ''Pussy.'' she said then, grinning.
[16:01] Laurick Scarbridge quirked a brow as she wrapped the chain around her hand. He glanced down at the weapon in his right hand and shrugged his shoulders as he tossed the stock rifle into the water. His hands moved to wrap around his back as he hopped over the first ridge and then continued to move toward toward Fenna with a large smile on his face, "I'm surprised you agreed to these terms, that I am. We'll see - we really will. I don't think you'll be happy with the outcome, though."
[16:05] Fenna DeCuir smirked. ''Oh, I know that. Would love to put your cock into the meatgrinder once I am done with you, too bad I have none here.'' she shrugged, nodded at the water. ''Guess the sharks will have to do the trick then..'' she moved forwards then herself, slowly. One step after the other, though this just lasted for a moment. Fenna then took a sprint, swung the heavy rusty chain through the air and would attempt to hit him right against the face. '''Lets not talk. HUH!''
[16:07] Laurick Scarbridge held his hands behind his back as Fenna advanced and continued to talk. He just smiled that large grin. For once, the red head didn't open his mouth. When Fenna came forward with the chain he actually ducked down and attempted to avoid the damage. Fenna would notice right away something off about his reflex speed. Judging by the speed which with he moved, he had some sort of augmentation in his knees .. or at least his joints. Once the chain had moved out of his range, he backed up, hopefully, before she could continue to swing once more. His right hand raised up and he tutted his finger at Fenna and winked.
[16:11] Fenna DeCuir wouldnt think of any sort of augumentation. She probably thought he was an alien and the fact that he ducked, just fueled her anger more. Expression darkened instantly, low growl was released from her throat. The tree they were standing on, got more slippery by the rain and for a moment she nearly lost balance. She jumped back though and ended up into a crouch, one hand placed in front of her while the other still had that chain. She stood up then, slowly and would indeed try to hit him again. ''FIGHT THEN ASSHOLE!!''
[16:16] Laurick Scarbridge stood up straight right after she had crouched down after the failed attack. Laurick continued to back away from Fenna as she would likely chase him down the pipeline like a crazy woman spinning a chainlink .. chain. The red head glanced behind him as he hopped back over the various ridges, just taking enough care not to trip. The winds started to pick up and almost knock him off balance as his hair was now soaked from the rain. He stopped and looked back toward Fenna to see exactly what she would do now. His balance was starting to wane with increase in the weather conditions - the pipes being incredibly slippery.
[16:22] Fenna DeCuir 's hoodie was soaked, as was her shirt. Nope, not wearing a bra. She grunted when he moved back and instantly began to chase him. Run, hop, run, hop. Using the chain as if it were a lasso. Slicing through the air as she rush over to the man. ''BUG!!'' she yelled and tried to hit him against the ear before quickly pulling back. Hit or not, she would then simply try to throw him off balance by jumping forwards in an attempt to push him down. And yes, would it work she'd go down too.
[16:24] Laurick Scarbridge the chain missed again as Laurick's head movement seemed to be rather impressive. Apparently he was good at dodging physical strikes. It was the combination that got him. Fenna's double up with the takedown had been enough to nail him. Laurick's right foot mis-stepped after he dodged the chain and when she'd thrown her shoulder into his armored abdomen his whole body lost control and his right leg collapsed. The red head's back collided with the pipeline and his radio bashed against the metal and splattered into the water beside them. The splash got into his right eye, and rolled down his cheek. He started to laugh. That same laugh that he always laughed as Fenna now had top position over him.
[16:31] Fenna DeCuir winced only briefly when the two of them found a quick way down to the pipeline. She would now straddle him, eyes rolled back a moment and she released a low feral hiss. Anger, hate those were the feelings she was most familiar with and this man seemed to just know how to trigger her. With the chain still wrapped about her knuckles she tried to throw a right hook straight for his jaw since she was still on top right now. ''DONT FUCKING LAUGH!!!'' she screamed in anger and frustration.
[16:33] Laurick Scarbridge hadn't moved to remove her from the mount position that she had on his abdomen, but he had positioned himself so it was difficult for her to move up. When she sat up and threw that right hook right to his face with the chain - it connected. The red head's cheek made a dull thudding noise, and almost immediately started to turn red. But as she started to retract her fist he sat up. He sat up and looked straight into her eyes with that strange heterochromic gaze - the large smile on his lips - and winked at her. If she'd made another aggressive movement toward him, Laurick would attempt to wrap his arms underneath of her armpits and hook his hands together to pull her down toward the ground to stifle her movements the best that he could.
[16:38] Fenna DeCuir would of course make another aggressive movement. She was Fenna after all. And Fenna was angry. Lips twitched when her first connected, but this wasn't enough. She wanted blood. She wanted alot of blood. The fact that he was smiling at her, pissed her off more. ''FIGHT YOU FUCKIN PUSSY!!'' was yelled by the woman that was nearly blinded by her rage at this point. Hand reached out for his shoulders, but felt his hands on her body then. She changed plans and now lunged forwards, attempting to ram her forehead against his nose.
[16:41] Laurick Scarbridge had competed in wrestling in his younger years and had rudimentary knowledge of the sweeping techniques still. He didn't stop Fenna from butting heads with him, his gaze was down at their legs though. Fenna would feel a shift between her knees as Laurick's abdomen region bucked up and his whole body weight shifted to his right side as he attempted to throw Fenna onto her back - it was more of a roll for him to get on top. Her head connected with his with a loud thud and another crackle. Fenna hit hard, that was for sure. Laurick would have a black eye or two and a broken nose at the very least. Blood didn't come from his nostrils after that. But something escaped from his mouth, that laugh, that same damn laugh, "Kwa hoo hoo hoo!"
[16:46] Fenna DeCuir was thrown off balance, arms swung about in his attempt to get her off him. It worked partly, though she did managed to place a hand behind her on the pipeline to keep herself up half. Her clothes were soaked, the heavy wind didn't made it easier at all. She would try to place her feet onto the rusty old surface quick, so she could push herself back to her feet..
[16:50] Laurick Scarbridge had almost immediately attempted to ram his shoulder into Fenna to shove her back against the pipeline when she'd attempted ot stand up. He may not have been the largest dog, but he was a vicious one when he got his way, and he might have had his position over Fenna at this point. The rain started to come down harder ontop of the two, the water around them splattering loudly. The large grin was still on the red head's face as the lightning flashed in the background. Blood flowed freely from either side of his lips, as his cheek where she had hit him with the chain started to turn a violet hue.
[16:53] Fenna DeCuir could have made an attempt to ram her feet against his chest when he tried to push her back. But, she did not. The faintest scent of blood distracted her, if only for a second. And that was the exact moment the man's attempt to shove her back against the pipeline worked. She grunted, would not stay still. Feet tried to kick him while hands were clawing at his face, oh yes..she had some dam sharp nails.
[16:56] Laurick Scarbridge was slow and methodical, as if the worry of Fenna or the story was the farthest thing from his mind. His full lips were grinning wide, blood running down either side of his mouth. His eyes were alight with a passion. When Fenna started to buck her legs he would move his legs to attempt to just siftle the movement by crushing his thighs to hers. Her hands, he didn't bother to stop. Her nails would dig deeply into that already damage cheek and ripped the skin easily, blood almost squirting from the wound she had inflicted. His eyes were still locked on her face as he attempted to hold Fenna by the throat with his fleshy right hand, his left hand would slowly rear back as he if were measuring her. His cheeks however would be burning if he felt pain, instead, he bled - with the smile on his face. That odd bloody smile.
[17:02] Fenna DeCuir tried to think of something else but the blood on his face. This was a task she quickly gave up. She growled at him like a hungry wolf, nails would keep trying to rip more skin over as the crimson liquor now dribbled down her fingers as well. Head was pushed back then when she felt his hand wrapping about her delicate throat. Fingers would start to move up towards his eyes while she contiued to swear and scream at him. Spanish, english words. And none of them were actually sounding nice.
[17:06] Laurick Scarbridge just started to laugh as his usually pearly white teeth showed to be covered in his own blood from his gums. When Fenna's fingers moved up to his eyes and started to push on the soft orbs - that was when Laurick finally struck out. His right hand wrapped tightly and firmly around her delicate skin - his left mechanical hand hummed violently. His shoulder jerked and the closed metal fist would come toward Fenna. If she hadn't moved .. it would come again .. and again .. and again. Until she had either dodged it or it had put her out, Laurick's left hand would attempt to violently slam into that beautiful face and put her into a dream world for a time. The rain had started to kick up around them, it was now pouring and it was hard to see anything around them except for the silouhette of the rain that formed about their bodies.
[17:16] Fenna DeCuir was too cocky to pay much attention to the hand that wrapped about her throat. She knew he couldn't choke her anyway. That fact made her grin, his blood streamed down her hand and small wrist and eyes seemed to brighten a bit. And while she was clawing at his face, his eyes and thought she had the victory of this one in her pocket.. he threw his robo hand into the mix. Now, she -was- paying attention to that hand. One hand tried to remove his from her throat, desperatly tried to wriggle her body free as he hit her over and over. Cracks could be heard here and there, split lip..and within the next moments half of her face would change colors most likely. But the blood and her anger werent exactly a good combination.. however she could not permit to frenzy here, with this scientist. Fighting herself, fighting him. It would soon become too much. She hissed ferally, eyes stared right at him before they rolled back and her hand slowly slippe off his face..
[17:21] Laurick Scarbridge still had that smile on his face. That wide bloody smile. His eyes practically alight with glee at this point. His grip on her throat grew tighter and tighter as he continued to strike her and strike her. Each hit illicited a much brighter response from Laurick's smile. It grew and grew with the amount of damage he had done to Fenna. When her hands finally slipped off his face and presumably her body started to go limp - the grip on her throat subsided. He merely held her there as she went limp. The red head tilted his head and leaned in to look at her, slowly letting her neck go from his grip - and to leave her to slump in the water unconscious and bloodied. He took in a long breath and let out another as his chest heaved now - showing the utter tiredness. He took a step away from Fenna and glanced down at the blood that now stained the dark metal of his arm. He raised the knuckles up to his lips and ran his long blood stained tongue along the metal to remove it. The Doctor moved away from Fenna's body and stepped onto the swamp grass. He leaned over and wiped at his legs and then looked up at the sky as a rain drop hit him in the face .. and many more plastered him and cleansed his face of his wounds. The red head just started to laugh.
[17:25] Fenna DeCuir was just laying there. The storm, heavy rain..the fact that she looked like she had another close encounter with a truck, it didnt matter now. Mascara stains soon covered the pale, heavily bruised flesh. It was indeed not waterproof. Big chance the storm would blow her right into the sea.. hopefully she woud wake up before sharks smelled the blood on her.
Mathura is a city and the administrative headquarters of Mathura district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Mathura has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for the Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana scheme of Government of India.

Il m’arrive de regarder des images qui me permettent de passer à travers la tristesse des dures journées d’hiver. Celle-ci en est une!
Half the winter is reached. We perceive a slight increase in the daily light period. Hope is allowed! Will we have a hasty spring? Hard to say. I dare say so.
All this to mean that this photo was taken in the moistness of a day of September, when everything is silent, on the South bank of the St. Lawrence River. I sometimes look at pictures that allow me to pass through the sadness of the hard winter days. This image is one of them!

‘… a musical piece to be performed by musicians. The backdrop is important. It is the inspiration for the composition of the musical piece, the gusto of its performance and also its “speech”.’ – Okwui Enwezor
Four Musicians (moo, roar, chee-ow & yeeeoh) is a performance and sculpture by Joachim Schonfeldt, based on the German folklore tale of the Bremen Town Musicians, as recorded by the Brothers Grimm. In the original tale, a cat, a donkey, a rooster and a dog, past the primes of their lives, leave their masters’ homes, band together and set off on an adventure to Bremen, proving that the whole is stronger than the sum of its parts.
The tale has been retold and interpreted many times in popular culture (film, animation, theatre, literature) and has been represented by a number of contemporary artists (including Maurizio Cattelan).
Four Musicians (moo, roar, chee-ow & yeeeoh) the sculpture substitutes the donkey, dog, cat and rooster with taxidermied animals: an indigenous Nguni cow, a lioness and a vulture – all symbols of African pride and power. The sculpture rests on a base resembling a traditional Zulu shield, in reference to the theme of conflict and security. Schonfeldt also stacks the animals from large to small – an effective inversion of power relations.
The sculpture functions as a backdrop to a performance of original music by James French executed by four musicians stationed opposite the sculpture and playing a selection of cornet, trumpet, trombone, french horn, baritone or tuba. These wind instruments infuse or breathe life back into the inanimate objects or animals.
The artist states:
‘The piece performed by the musicians is in essence the work. I anticipate it to be a bit like the idea of ‘windjammers’, an American circus concept that describes the intensity of the music played during the climax of an act. The stuffed animals are, to a large extent, backdrop: the often mentioned augmentation in my work. The animals augment a ’speech’ here. The speech is represented by the commissioned piece of music performed by four musicians. The four blow instruments give an impression performance of the four animals (moo, roar, chee-ow & yeeoh); ‘A full breath of air’ perhaps the operative idea. The piece of music is of a circus-band nature and very intense, performed at high pace and leaving all "breathless"’.

At sea, shallows and obstacles can constitute a hidden danger to navigation. These are shown on nautical charts of high traffic areas. A good positioning and a nautical chart are a necessity to avoid these dangers. An additional help is to signal the danger by placing beacons. At sea, a widely used beacon is the buoy.
To indicate the location of the danger, buoys of various shapes, colors, lights and lights are used according to an arranged system. Beacon system. Each region had its own system. Due to the increase in international traffic, the need for a general system has arisen for greater clarity.
Cardinal marking is a way to mark obstacles such as benches and wrecks. The shape and the light signal depend on the position of the safe waterway in relation to the buoy.
