The sombre expressions of the audience at the end of the talk when the poem "First They Came..." by Pastor Martin Niemoller was read out.
The poem:
"First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists ,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."
Today, we will get a clearer picture on what is being done, what questions still need to be answered and what needs exist for those children, adults and families who live with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
