Apparently there were some 300,000 people at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta -- which is a bit insane, considering the city only has a population of 400k or so. It was all a bit crazy -- getting into the festival (Ashton Court) required us to shuffle, shoulder to shoulder, for about 30 minutes -- and leaving, the crowds were even denser!

Audience with Pope John Paul II in front of St Peter's Basilica, Vatican City.
The one day we happened to go to see the Vatican, he happened to be giving this audience. We had no idea this event was scheduled for this day. It made it a bit hard to get into St Peter's Basilica until later in the afternoon when he'd gone.
The audience of Planet Journals appears to be much less than that of www.irishblogs.ie, the major Irish weblog aggregator.
