Just a few feet from where I sit at the computer. He is bold and arrogant and fat as a tick! I don't have a lot of use for Groundhogs (woodchucks) as they have dug holes all over my property. In and under my barn which half is a dirt floor. The last time I mowed the largest area that used to be horse pasture there was a big brand new hole smack out in the middle of it! I am not sure they have so many predators although I have been hearing coyotes more frequently lately,,,,

Quedamos con unos formidables amigos de salidas fotográficas que tengo y realizamos una ruta de diversas localidades rurales y medievales
Era la madrugada de un frio día de Abril y al tomar esta fotografía pensé, aquí me falta un desnudo femenino, pero no lo teniamos a mano, por lo que tuvimos que apañarnos con uno de masculino.
En esta ocasión la versión en monocromo, será un poco más dramática, realizada en el bonito pueblo medieval de Guimerà (Lérida - Cataluña).
Después de una larga noche de juego de poker, unos ganan y otros pierden, ya os podeis imaginar que le pasó a este jugador, no!
Le dedico esta foto a mi entrañable amigo J.B.M. por la osadía que tuvo de posar desnudo para que le tomara fotografias para concursos fotográficos, como premio él se llevó un buen resfriado.

We meet some formidable friends from photographic outings that I have and we made a route through various rural and medieval towns
It was the early morning of a cold day in April and when I took this photograph I thought, here I am missing a female nude, but we did not have it on hand, so we had to make do with a male one.
This time the monochrome version will be a little more dramatic, made in the beautiful medieval town of Guimerà (Lleida - Catalonia).
After a long night of playing poker, some win and others lose, you can imagine what happened to this player, no!
I dedicate this photo to my dear friend J.B.M. For the audacity that he had to pose naked so that he would take pictures for photographic contests, as a reward he had a bad cold.

There was a time when one was supposed to see the face of Goddess reflected on water ( water was placed in an earthen pot in front of the idol) - idea was not to show the audacity to look directly at her eyes.
We are keeping that tradition alive in some modified manner - we are looking at her through our digital eye on our LCD panel . The first thing people are doing is to take out their Mobile Phone or Digi Cam and shoot - then they are folding their hands in Namaskar......

This young female Northern Cardinal was enjoying the seed log in peace and quiet, when suddenly a pesky little Brown-headed Nuthatch had the audacity to fly up and start pecking away on the opposite side of the log!
Poor little Cardinal, at first, she wasn't sure what to do about that intruder! She scooted over some, and then plucked up the courage to peek around the to see if that little bird was still there? Well of course it was, but she eventually decided that perhaps sharing with a small bird was OK.
And thus, she learned firsthand about feeder etiquette and sharing.

Hercule stopped for a second to confirm his suspicions. And, yes, he was correct - as usual; some swine had shot him! How dare they! Who? Who the hell had the audacity? Johnny foreigner, obviously. There was a greasy looking Lotii up ahead with a smoking musket and a scared look on his face. The devil! I'll get him!
Except he didn't step forward. Instead he walked straight into the floor. There was grass in his mouth. Something was wrong. He tried to right himself, but the body wouldn't obey. So tired. Stupid, really. There was a battle to be fought. De La Tour pulled men into a defensive wall around him. Good on that man! Then darkness took him.
There followed a weave of moments; men shifting him into a bed, the barber-surgeon prodding and poking, Jules sitting over him and praying.
He eventually found consciousness. Like a shipwrecked sailor finds a spur of timber in a churning ocean. And there he was, standing beside him; the Hawk of Hades.
"Why am I here?" he asked. "Get me back to the front. My men need me."
"The fight is over, brother," Jules replied. "The men won."
"Oh." He pondered. "Georges?"
"Oui Général?" replied the manservant.
"A bottle of that sparkling stuff the horse-eaters are so keen on."
A look passed between the chef and the priest. And then a single nod.
"Oui Général," he replied, and then slipped out. What was this? Who the hell did Jules think he was, confirming his orders? Words would need to be had.
My, but there were a lot of people in this small room.
"What's going on here?" he asked. Didn't they know it was rude to intrude on a gentleman's chambers?
"Brother, your condition is not good," replied Jules.
"I was shot, so what? We've all been shot before."
"Non, Général, we have not," replied a chap in a dark uniform. Rimbaud? de Glenson? Awkward shuffling.
"I'm afraid you won't leave this bed." added someone else. Possibly Beauchamp?
"This all sounds dangerously like insubordination," he answered. "Is this a mutiny? And you Jules? You're part of it?"
"Don't be ridiculous, Hercule. There's no mutiny. You're dying."
"Come again?"
"You were shot. The bullet damaged you beyond repair. You have hours left. Maybe less."
Hercule paused, upset. This was new.
"Well tell Georges he had better hurry up!"
