Pendle's Panopticon, 'Atom', rests on the hillside above Wycoller village in Wycoller Country Park. Constructed in ferro-cement with a surface coating of metal-based paint, it is both a striking contemporary viewing point and shelter from which to enjoy Pendle's glorious scenery, and an intriguing and beautiful object which can be viewed from afar. From inside, its circular viewing spaces frame spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. I decided to photograph what I saw inside 'Atom,' rather than the view of the countryside outside.

After I posted a photo of some cows yesterday, Flickr member Citizen of the Galaxy commented that it reminded him of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother album jacket. After I refreshed my memory of what the album looked like, it occurred to me that I took a much closer homage that same morning.

Reminds me of Pink Floyd....

I don't know that taking a panned image of attraction is appropriate. After all, panning can often induce an impression of speed. Either way here's one of 1923 Garrett built showman engine "The Mighty Atom".

Last year Stella Atom was added to Bucks in Tulsa. Buck is still on the other side of the property, but now he has his lady friend alongside of him. I didn't have time to capture him on my last trip here in the fall, but I made sure to capture her this time. She is made of fiberglass and as you can see, very colorful. Across the street you can see Meadow Gold Mack. Another new addition to Route 66 in Tulsa.

Opposite the Atom Smasher, the Atom! I think he looks pretty good. Size does matter.

Sei uguale a me altro che no

sei come me in ogni atomo

siamo soci

Sei uguale a me altro che no

sei come me in ogni atomo

Got inspired with Fallout 4.

Love to find these 50s abstract patterns.

The path took me behind the dike, past the Brokdorf nuclear power plant. For some reason, it reminded me of Pink Floyd.

On the old historic part of Route 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma sits Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios. Bucks is a common stop for people exploring Route 66 and is flanked by a pair of enormous statues. One is Buck Atom the “space cowboy”. This is the other statue, Stella Atom, who apparently never made it to space.

Wanting to live this life free of hurt and crash and chaos is not something selfish. Sometimes we embrace these things as part of us and do not realize we are but allowing them to be a made us when they should never cease to be but part of moments not intrinsically who we are in ourselves. To feel hurt is not the same as to be hurt. They are not one and the same. Such as it is not the same to feel happy and be happy. It's hard, so damn hard for me not to become the feelings that cling into my heart at times. Yet we need to cease to romanticize heartbreak and sadness and symptoms of depression and we need to be able to speak of them and feel encouraged to translate our hearts to others. Society is making us become cold with one another, when our intelligence and means of communication should be taken to better be able to connect and be kind and be guardians of each other. It is so heartbreaking to realize where we have been heading and powerful to think that if everybody cares about peace and being happy and fulfilled we can all walk towards new and more sensible beginnings. Let's connect towards goodness, people. This universe, this point in life, planet earth and every breathing atom in it deserves it.

Custom Ryan Choi Atom Minifig! No custom pieces on this guys folks!

Real Name: Ryan Choi

Occupation: Hero

Gender: Male

Height: 5'8

Weight: 160lbs (72kg)

Doctor Ryan Choi emigrated to the United States following the death of his mother, to take up Ray Palmer's former position at Ivy University. Ryan had a deeper motivation for doing this, however; he had been in touch with Ray since he was a boy, and knew Ray had left him the legacy of the size-changing belt which Ray had originally used to become the Atom. Having found the belt, Ryan intended to explore the microscopic world, and utilize the belt's capabilities to benefit modern society—only to find a multitude of secrets awaiting The All-New Atom beneath the surface of Ivy Town.

I'd love to hear what you think.
