[2021/12/09 09:52] William: stand for me?
[2021/12/09 09:53] Mara Telling: sure ... give me 5 minutes, ok?
it was a 2 hour session... and it was like being inside a real-time piece of art. lights and colors changin' ... glow ... letters appearing ... a metal sphere ... artful "accidents" ... almost philosophical
by slightly moving the mouse ... everything changed .. things and moods appearing/disappearing. magic
for a long time we didn't speak at all. I was just watching and zooming and being in awe.
from time to time he said things like: "see that?"
and: "phototools > choose "Midnight" .... then DoF/Glow tab .. set the strength of glow to zero" ...
and everything changed again.
learning ... changing points of view... evolving ...
these pics are unedited (just cropped). what you see is what I saw... what you see is what I was allowed to experience
it's all from the firestorm viewer and a genius' creative soul
William .... *smile* ... thank you!!
Info: a couple of years ago William published some tutorials on SL photography on Youtube. since the viewer changed you might have to adapt some things .. but to me it's a constant source of knowledge and inspiration. you might wanna check out William's channel

Sadly, there was originally a polished steel sphere within Atom that reflected the entering light, but this was stolen in 2012, leaving just a stump.

An older one from the archives with a bit of editing!
My biggest thanks to a very special friend of mine Lou Santani for making this absolutely stunning picture.
Last year Stella Atom was added to Bucks in Tulsa. Buck is still on the other side of the property, but now he has his lady friend alongside of him. I didn't have time to capture him on my last trip here in the fall, but I made sure to capture her this time. She is made of fiberglass and as you can see, very colorful. Across the street you can see Meadow Gold Mack. Another new addition to Route 66 in Tulsa.
After I posted a photo of some cows yesterday, Flickr member Citizen of the Galaxy commented that it reminded him of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother album jacket. After I refreshed my memory of what the album looked like, it occurred to me that I took a much closer homage that same morning.
