It was a joy to see dolphins playfully jumping alongside our swiftly moving boat in the Gulf of Mexico near Clearwater Beach.

Brienzersee - formed by the glaciers during the last ice age. approximately 9000 years ago as the glaciers started to melt and washed up sediments, Lake Brienz got separated by the melting glaciers from Lake Thun creating two separate lakes.
this area is called "Bödeli" (roughly translated as "small ground"), where Interlaken is located.
Interlaken is named after the location between two lakes.
the very turquoise colour comes from sediments that are washed away by rivers from the mountains down into the lake. because of the same sediments glaciers appear in this intense shades of blue colour too.
On the same morning I captured those White Wagtails feeding the younglings photos, I also tried my luck with a Song Thrush, though I didn't have high expectations. But would you look at that, for once the Song Thrush came so close that I couldn't focus anymore.
This young hairy woodpecker is still trying to get the hang of walking on a tree branch. At least he's got a good grip! I suppose he could just be playing around and pretending to be a sloth too.
People say the best thing to do in Venice is to get lost. That's exactly what happened to me and I managed to stumble across many beautiful canals. The one pictured above was one of my favourites. Lighting created by the setting sun, coupled with a picturesque bridge and moored boats perfectly conveys the romantic nature of Venice at night.
