This is the ceiling in the Baroque cathedral St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, Malta. The church was first built 1573-78, after a design by Girolamo Cassar, born in Malta, but got its current looks in the century after. It was the main church of worship for the knights of St John (who dominated the island in the 17th and 18th centuries).
If you are wondering what a co-cathedral is, that is what you get when you are in a diocese that already has a cathedral (in Mdina), but thinks another church is just as a grand and important (if not more so). So the bishop can use it as an alternative cathedral. This solution dates to 1820s, when the knights had left. Initially the cathedral was called Chiesa Conventuale di San Giovanni Battista (yes, it had an Italian name - in English that is Conventual Church of St. John)
I've finally found a perfect spot where the sun sets right behind the water with minimal trees in the way. It's not right in my neighborhood like my little pond, but only a short ride one town over. I drive by this pond here...which for the longest time I thought was a lake...now and then, and have been dying to go at sunset. The kids and I finally took a ride out there the other night, and I was rewarded with a stunning sunset, with a giant sun that was glowing and glittering a ruby red. I was in such a rush to get out and start shooting that I didn't even have my camera on the right setting...so the shots with the red sun are terrible lol. There are only a few decent ones that I would want to share...I still have so much to learn about shooting sunsets ;-)
Have an awesome Friday, my friends! :-)

Taken at Saint Andrews State Park, FL. This was a unique look at fishing that I caught at sunset. May your day be blessed and your life full of love. God loves you!!!
Irving's 908 is seen shoving back across the Penobscot River to pick up the conductor after completing a pickup at Kirby on this bitterly cold morning. After picking up the conductor, and letting the train charge up a bit more it will be a straight shot to McAdam, where they will meet their counterpart, 907.
On this day, Peter Sanchez ashes were set out into the Atlantic Ocean by three of his daughters, his niece, and his son in law. A day at the beach and a celebration of his life. A grand farewell.
A cactus (plural: cacti) is a member of the plant family Cactaceae, a family comprising about 127 genera with some 1750 known species of the order Caryophyllales. The word "cactus" derives, through Latin, from the Ancient Greek κάκτος, kaktos, Cacti occur in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Most cacti live in habitats subject to at least some drought. Many live in extremely dry environments, even being found in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on earth. Cacti show many adaptations to conserve water. Almost all cacti are succulents, meaning they have thickened, fleshy parts adapted to store water. Cacti are native to the Americas, ranging from Patagonia in the south to parts of western Canada in the north.
