The New Faculty Foundations Program provides both a community for new faculty in the College of Engineering and resources for new faculty success. The program is coordinated by the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching in Engineering.

Civilian Winter Flying Suit

 

This flying suit was worn by Clarence "Dutch" Shankle during the 1920s-1930s. This one-piece leather flying suit was made by Air Associates Inc. for cold weather flying. They continued making this flight suit through World War II.

Sheldon Bernofsky is an associate broker with Independent Financial Concepts Group. Sheldon joined the financial services industry in 2006 after a successful 35 year career in the clothing manufacturing industry.

 

In his role as an associate broker he works with families & individuals to help them determine the information they need to provide financial security in order to be able to carry on with their lives in the event of illness, death, or other life altering situations.

 

His goal is to ensure that his clients understand the differences among those products and services, and that they are comfortable with the choices and decisions they make.

 

Sheldon’s primary focus is on Living Benefits such as Long Term Care & Critical Illness Insurance. He is passionate about these 2 types of insurance options and feels personally responsible for making his clients aware of the benefits of owning them and thereby protecting their future.

Orion has grown and diversified over the last decade building national constituencies with its financial management services, and Headwaters Relief Organization, its nonprofit disaster relief organization.

 

Headwaters Relief Organization provides mental health support, community outreach and education, and cleanup and re-building to those who have experienced a natural disaster. Headwaters has provided the company’s employees and community partners with extraordinary opportunities to volunteer and serve in response to natural disasters in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Louisiana, and most recently, in Haiti and New Jersey. Since 2005, Orion has inspired more than 1,000 people, both employees and community members, to join them in their volunteer efforts.
