Talvolta siamo così :
assetati di sole
assetati di vita
assetati d'amore.
Ci abita la luce,
la speranza.
Solo quando il nostro cuore
si spegne
stanco
nella rassegnazione,
e ci fermiamo
chinando il capo,
la vita langue
in un orizzonte grigio
e soffocante
Lungo una stradina sulle alture di La Spezia

hey, Wally, I hear you got a new government job.
yeah, it's great! I get to meet all kinds of interesting and smart people.
yeah? like who?
like all kinds. I met Putin the other day.
yeah? isn't he a total thug, killer and creep?
no way! he was really cool! said all kinds of nice things about me!
and so you think. . . what?
to me, if he says nice things, that's a real asset.
and that affects how you perform your job?
yeah! he even gave me tips about emptying the trash! makes sweeping up at the White House a lot easier.
I can totally see how it would.
I know, right?
Photo is in response to Flickr group Macro Mondays with the challenge to include an object in ice. I selected an Australian $2 coin. The ice block split in half when I ejected it from the ice block maker, but this shot gives some idea of my intention.
I have chosen the name "Frozen Asset" as being appropriate.
San Felipe Castle, Cartagena, Colombia,
The crowning glory of the Spanish Empire’s defensive network of Cartagena, work first began on the fortress in 1536, when it was known as San Lázaro castle. Pirates roaming the Caribbean in those days had their eyes fixed on the wealth of Cartagena de Indias, a city rich in profits from the shipping industry and nascent slave trade. Spain needed to defend their prized asset, and they built the defensive walls that today surround the Old Town, as well as several key strategic forts. The most impressive overlooked the city from the top of a 130-foot high hill, perfectly positioned with commanding views of the bay in front of Cartagena.
