This year’s International Women’s Day is held under the banner of UN Women's global campaign to mark the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action with the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: “Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Leaders from the UN system, government, private sector and philanthropy affirmed the enduring impact of the Fourth UN World Conference on Women in 1995, and the essential role the Beijing Declaration continues to play.

The event was moderated by Sade Baderinwa, Anchor, ABC Eyewitness News and featured a Broadway cast performance from the Tony Award-winning SUFFs the Musical on the suffragists’ battle for the right to vote.
