This was taken in the Tate Modern in London. I've seen a few photos of this staircase on Flickr so I was looking forward to photographing it, but when I arrived the light levels were pretty low and there was a sign at the bottom and it was difficult to find a composition that didn't include at least a bit of clutter or other things to distract from the staircase itself. I finally settled on this angle looking up as this allowed me to lose the distractions which were all at ground-level. Canon EOS 6D & Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L @ 28mm & f/2.8, 1/45 sec @ ISO 1000

Looking down at dawn from the summit of Kala Patthar 5,643 m (18,514 ft) towards a group of trekkers attempting the climb in the hope of catching a glimpse of the summit of Everest in the distance. Its a slow ascent as at 5500m you have approximately 50% of the Oxygen available at sea level. Taken with Fuji Velvia slide film. Nepalese Himalaya, Nepal

I know, I don't usually post two pics in one day but I couldn't decide which great white egret snap I liked best. Fantastically imposing bird.
I snapped this team of tiny mosses ascending an icy slope in the mist, before twiddling with the image---I'm not sure if I've ended up with something a bit too 'vague'/misty, especially for a small screen.

from the dark tunnel of the station, a lone figure climbs toward the shimmering lattice above, each step pulling him further from shadow into the fractured glow of the city’s spine.
