A little bottle, 5cm high. I have two of the same size. The other one is made of brown glass, hopefully I'll get to use it too one day. I put salt in both many years ago so they would look a bit brighter in front of a dark background and never rinsed it out. I placed the bottle in front of a blue wooden tray with a distressed look and added the tiny flowers I'd already used for the teddy bears a few weeks ago.
An artificial flower which I use every now and then, comes in handy when nothing fresh is in the house
I have previously uploaded photos of this interesting and very common plant in our winter, which is the "Cipó de São João".
We had a meeting again last June, when I took these photos of the buds in full sun, and other with flowers already half open in a darker place.
The texture is very interesting and in my opinion it sometimes looks like an artificial flower, but it is very beautiful.
Here I leave the two photos for appreciation of my Flickr friends, in addition to the information below.
The "Cipó de São João" / Flame Vine, (Pyrostegia venusta) is a woody creeper found in subtropical and temperate climate of Brazil, found at the side of the roads, ravines and fences. It is common in almost every state of the country, and can reach up to 12 meters high.
It produces many inflorescences, composed of elongated flowers in a vibrant shade of orange, but there's another type with yellow flowers. Flowering starts in mid-Autumn, goes through the Winter in full bloom and ending in early Spring. That's why it is an interesting plant when we want to have showy flowers in the cold months. It covers pergolas, fences, trellises, walls and arbors very well.
Its exuberant flowering attracts pollinating agents such as insects and hummingbirds.
It has medicinal properties, but is toxic to cattle. In addition to ornamenting, the flowers are used in folk medicine to treat white spots on the body (leucoderma or vitiligo).
The remembrance poppy is an artificial flower that has been used since 1921 to commemorate military personnel who have died in war, and represents a common or field poppy, Papaver rhoeas. Inspired by the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields", and promoted by Moina Michael, they were first adopted by the American Legion to commemorate American soldiers killed in that war. They were then adopted by military veterans' groups in parts of the British Empire.
Today, they are mostly used in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, to commemorate their servicemen and women killed in all conflicts. There, small artificial poppies are often worn on clothing leading up to Remembrance Day/Armistice Day. Poppy wreaths are often laid at war memorials. In Australia and New Zealand, they are also worn on Anzac Day.

Rain & snow here today. Placed artificial flowers foreground and background. Quincy is a little shaggy. We are shelter in place so he will have to wait on the grooming. I did trim all 3 pups' eyebrows so they can see.
This was yet another house left abandoned. I was able to enter this one from the front door. As I approached the porch I could see some belongings of the prior owner. Toys laid faded yet intact with remnants of clothing scattered about. The inside painted a scene of one final Christmas. The family Christmas tree dried up and fallen over inches from where it once stood. On a rather distressed coffee table stood a red vase with artificial flowers as though never disturbed. A torn couch was moved into the dining room as if the new arrangements were better form those currently taking up shelter. I was not able to venture further, as my co-worker/driver felt uneasy. The pondering questions still remain, where did they go, why did they go. How many more shattered lives will be claimed....
Happy Slider Sunday
Artificial flowers with little lights in them. Edited in Deep Dream Generator and then used as a texture over original.
I'm not really fond of these flowers. A little too "cheesy" for my tastes but there are some in this family that really like them.
