Wheeling 735 has just pulled through their yard on one of the yard tracks and is taking headroom before doubling part of their train into another track. Carey, OH 2/26/2023
We had walked further than we had intended at the start, which was above Hirschegg. After taking the chair lift to Heuberg, we followed the high-altitude trail past Mittelberg, over the Stutzalpe where we started the descent to Baad, the last village in the Kleinwalsertal. It was a beautiful and relatively easy walk. Best of all: in Baad we could take the bus back to Riezlern. HFF!

It was the end of a tiresome -being loaded like a mule in midsummer- descend from Koutloumousi monastery and St Paisios' refuge.
Location: Iviron monastery, Mount Athos (Agio Oros), Hellas.

A408 slowly weaves its way into the north yard to setoff 20 cars and recrew before departing south with 76 cars for Centralia.
A five-pack of Freeport McMoran GP38s arrive at the AZER interchange in Clifton, AZ with a cut of empty acid cars. The cloudy day allowed for some different angles, here I chose to climb a cliff and - who knew - it actually ended up making for a nice shot.
401 sporting the new RRRR paint scheme leads a train of cement hoppers from the Holcim plant in Portland into Pueblo under the classic cantilever at Goodnight, the transition from single to double track on the old Tennessee Pass line. (Props to Kevin the Krazy 1 for pointing out this signal location!)
A pair of doves arrive on a very cold and windy morning. Making sure everythings is safe, they settle in. When the wind gusts it puffs up their feathers. Fun stuff to watch while drinking coffee out back on the patio.
During the construction of Vienna's Hauptbahnhof (main station), you passed this mirrored staircase, when you arrived at the provisional train station or wanted to take a train there. On the left you just see a reflection, on the right there's the reflection of the reflection, I was in the downstairs position...

I love it during the winter weather when the snow geese come to visit us here in western Colorado. Usually they show up in a "blizzard", which is how they refer to a group of them together. They fly tightly together and make several loops around the lake, which is generally at least partly frozen by then. Eventually they begin their approach to land. This particular one landed on the ice and slid 10 feet or so across the ice. So glad that I was able to capture the slide on my camera ... just wish I had gotten video ... it was so much fun to watch. Happy Wednesday to all!

🇬🇧 Egirdir is a small town of just over 20,000 inhabitants (not a recent figure) on the shores of the lake of the same name. The water comes mainly from rain and snowmelt and is as fresh as Lake Beyşehir. With a surface area of 570 km2, it is the fourth largest natural lake in Turkey. The lake is divided into two parts by the Hoyran Strait, which is only 1.5 km wide. The southern part is the larger and forms Lake Eğirdir, while the northern part is called Lake Hoyran.
