Every time we drive down this highway, I wonder what might happen if we drove straight on that road to the little house instead of continuing left around the curve.

I couldn't resist this shot through the windscreen, part of the Sierra Nevada Mountains - California.

It is a lava dome complex and home to a large ski area.

Best viewed large.

Lucky me to have a very calm son in law driving and he stopped.

Taken at 11 pm on June 2, 2022, on the Ingraham Trail, near Yellowknife. The snow is finally gone and the summer leaves are starting to open.

Our first sight of the remakable reconstuction that is being achieved in this wonderful city.

With their day nearly complete, CSX L10016 prepares to run around their train and tie down in the modest yard along Washington Street. The gondola in their consist will be interchanged with the Conemaugh & Black Lick here, while the other two cars will return south to Rockwood on tomorrow's train.

One of the great thrills in watching Sandhill Cranes as they migrate is when they arrive in great flocks, uttering their raucous cries as they descend from the skies in large numbers. It's just spectacular!

in my garden and how wonderful to see things popping on a beautiful day, after many days of rain!!

Rain on the way as the clouds roll in.

Bluebells in the springtime are a photographic tradition here in the UK. For 2 or 3 weeks in April and May they will thickly carpet the woodland floor, growing in their thousands. Its quite a sight and from what I understand there are not many other places in the world that experience this annual explosion of bluebells. Finding a patch of bluebells in foggy early morning light is every British photographer's dream scenario. Sadly for this photo those ideal conditions were not the case and I had to make do with some close up photography with the help of some extension tubes. Still, the bluebell season is just beginning and I might yet get lucky with the conditions.
