Ark Nova is currently ranked number 4 out of all the many thousands of board games.

Whilst I have many hundreds of board games, Ark Nova wasn't one of them. The theme of building a zoo didn't really appeal to me, but I finally caved in and bought the game in May, and in early June I settled down learn the rules.

And yes, I can see why the game is so popular and I very much enjoyed my play throughs.

Ark of the Covenant cake for a Sunday school presentation. Made to Biblical proportions with rice crispy Commandment tablets.

We were woken by a huge swhoosh of beating wings and the darkness was banished as a radiant luminous being appeared bearing the gift of Hope for Humanity - a golden Ark.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love

and an ark to save life on planet Earth.

A symbol of Hope as we enter what will hopefully be an age of enlightenment in the face of impending biosphere breakdown.

Happy New Year(s) to all

I was so taken by this boat inside the Wasserkirche in Zurich that I didn't notice the golden crocodile on the ceiling

Ark Royal being towed out of Portsmouth on her way to the breakers in Turkey. She in the charge of four SD tugs with SD Bountiful towing, SD Powerful steadying the stern with SD Indulgent and SD Independent either side at the stern.

I was very impressed by picture of miniatures from “4Esquinas”. For me, it was pretty nice idea to gather most of my origami models in one composition. In cooperation with origamiru (Andrey Ermakov) and Finwych (Yaroslav Terehov) we tried to create a rough CP for the Noah's ark. As a result of our efforts, I am sharing pictures of my own Noah’s Ark. New models of animals will be added to composition as completed.

We really are lucky to live near Whitby.. We have so much beauty surrounding us in a small area! Bev had not seen this set of falls before and was amazed!

HMS Ark Royal is pictured participating during an Amphibious Exercise off the Eastern coast of the United States in 2008.

She is the fifth vessel to bear the proud name. Ark Royal was built by Swan Hunters Ship Builders' yard at Wallsend in December 1978 and launched by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. HMS Ark Royal was accepted into service on 1 July 1985 and finally Commissioned, again by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother on 1 November 1985.

HMS Ark Royal is larger than her 2 sisters, Invincible and Illustrious, at 211.4 metres (693 feet) long. She has a maximum beam of 35 metres (114.7 feet) and a displacement of 20,235 tonnes.

4 Olympus gas turbine engines (like Concorde's) propel the ship, which give a maximum speed in excess of 30 knots. A steeper ski jump than in the other ships of this class is fitted at the forward end of the flight deck.

The ship's motto is 'Zeal Does Not Rest'.
