Kirkstall Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in Kirkstall, north-west of Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire, England. It is set in a public park on the north bank of the River Aire. It was founded c. 1152. It was disestablished during the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII.

Himeji Castle with the garden in Japan. It was registered in 1993 as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country.
Everything in Canary Wharf is modern and perfect. It is a huge contrast to London. Arcitecture is modern and the angles are interesting.
Canary Wharf reminded me of New York and the four towers of the World Financial Center (opposite the ex-World Trade Center)

Pre 1800 (1765 claimed).
Below the Palisades, right on the Hudson River, opposite Yonkers, NY.
The woman that lived here in the 19th Century raised 9 children, buried 2 husbands, and ran a tavern for the boatmen from this house.
The original building is the left hand one, the right half is a later addition. The porch was added about 1909.
Strange to see this surviving right opposite New York City.

The oldest and possibly the first Building in the Town? Taking advantage of the Autumn setting and the sunshine.
It was one of those moments when I looked up in old Riga and saw this old castle like building and took a shot standing in the middle of the road, in that part of the city you have to pay to drive in so is not so many traffic, and many nice old cobbled streets. I did a bit of an edit on this to bring out the fairytale feel... :)
