The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed (Собор Василия Блаженного), commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is a church in Red Square in Moscow. Built in the 16th century to commemorate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan, the building is shaped as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky, a design that has no parallel in Russian architecture.
Dating back to the year 537 AD, the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul is a true masterpiece of Byzantine architecture, that has survived the test of time. Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano
Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St. Peter's is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and the largest church in the world. While it is neither the mother church of the Catholic Church nor the cathedral of the Diocese of Rome, St. Peter's is regarded as one of the holiest Catholic shrines. It has been described as "holding a unique position in the Christian world" and as "the greatest of all churches of Christendom"

-I took a picture similar to this earlier on in the year, however I was interested in seeing how lighting would affect this particular shot.
-I revisited the spot at which I took this photo last time an attempted to recreate the conditions.
The dome of the State Capitol of Texas.
Did you know that the name "Texas" comes from the Spanish word of the same spelling? It was previously spelled as "Tejas," which was initially pronounced as "ta-shas." It's ultimately derived from the word "taysha," which means "allies, friends" in the language of Caddo Indians, who live in eastern Texas.

Opened in Ingleside in 1961, it is a prominent landmark high above Sydney’s northern beaches. The native gardens and natural bushland surrounding the Temple provide a tranquil environment for individual prayer, meditation, contemplation and reflection.

Il Duomo, the cathedral di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, Italy. Came across this view point by chance, it's taken from the roof terrace bar of the Hotel Baglioni, much more comfortable and civilised to sit here with a Gin & Tonic than it was to join the sunset scrum at Michelangelo's Square the night before. Its a better composition, too.
The Moon rise between the dome and the tower was an added bonus.

It was designed by Hungarian architect Imre Steindl and opened in 1902. It has been the largest building in Hungary since its completion. The Parliament Building is built in the Gothic Revival style; it has a symmetrical façade and a central dome. The dome is Renaissance Revival architecture. The parliament is also largely symmetrical from the inside, with two identical parliament halls on the opposing sides of the building. One of the two halls is still in use today for sessions of the Hungarian National Assembly, the other for ceremonies, conferences, and guided tours.
