Getting in to the main area of Petra involves walking through some of the most amazingly colored slot canyons (Siq)....this one was especially wonderful!
Urn tomb-the largest royal tomb, carved @ 70 AD. It may hold the remains of King Arets IV who died in 40 AD
Staying here made me realize two things: 1) I don’t belong, and 2) I’m moving in. Between the pool and architecture that’s fancier than my personality, I’ve convinced myself I’m royalty. No one tell the staff

At the end of the very long slot canyon, this is the prize...your first view of the Treasury Building! A funerary temple carved from the pink rock. In the sun it is a bright pink like this and when the sun is low, it is a darker more muted color of red.

I think Wells Cathedral is my favourite building. First off, it's HUGE, secondly it's got a beautiful colour in the sunlight, and thirdly, it's got so much history within. I really could spend a lot of time walking through it's cavernous halls!
I've only recently worked out how to do bracketting and i gave HDR processing a go today (i've never been really fond of the results of my efforts before today's attempts, but these turned out ok), So basically this is how i spent my day at work :$
Produced in CS3 using Merge to HDR command from 2 RAW images ( -1, +1)
I'd be interested to hear what you all think, and any tips would be gratefully received :)
Beneath the whispering dome of Qom’s Timcheh, geometry and soul converge.
Built in the late 19th century by master architect Hassan Qomi, this vaulted masterpiece is a testament to Persian ingenuity. Its massive brick ceiling — the largest of its kind in Iran — weaves light, shadow, and silence into a sacred rhythm. Every curve tells a story; every arch holds a breath of history.
A view from above of Petra looking down on the tombs. Note the difference in the color of the rock from this distance.

Some believe these crevaces were all tombs and others believe they were homes. Petra was at one time a city totally carved from rock...You can be the judge.
