Past Glories Dispersing Clouds ...
The " Arc de Triomf " is a triumphal arch built with colorful brickwork in Mudéjar style which has its origins in Moorish architecture. It was designed by the Modernista architect and artist Josep Vilaseca.
It is thirty metres tall and is abundantly decorated on all sides with stone carvings, ceramic tiles and a large number of statues and reliefs. The arch is embellished with a stone carving of the Spanish coat of arms topped with a crown and it s flanked by two lions.Below, following the contour of the arch, there are the emblems of all provinces. The central one on the keystone, which represents Barcelona,is slightly larger than the others. The arch is also adorned with twelve allegorical statues of women symbolizing fame.

This moth is a new species for me. It apparently is named for the hook-like wingtips and arched wings. It ranges from 1 to 1.5 inches in length and is common in North America.

Turret Arch ... with a little light panting there in this 30 second capture about 40 minutes after sunset. The bright 'star' there fighting its way through the clouds is Venus (pretty sure).
I used my white LED flashlight here and painted over the arch quickly ... for about 1/3 of the exposure (10 seconds). Wanted to simulate moonlight.
Ideally I would have liked Ms. Krach to apply the light for me from far off at an angle, but alas she chose not to join me for the late evening hike. She was resting from the early hike that day we took at Natural Bridges :)
