Title: Miniature of space
Material:Washi Gampi paper, plexiglass, wood boxes
Size: 18 x 18 x 40 cm
Year of completion: 2012
Description:
These series are my experimentation with Washi particularly Gampi paper building up the natural landscape and miniature of interior space boxes. The boxes came from my inspiration of Japanese interior with sliding door combined with the idea of layering screen inspired from the Puppet theatre show in Tokushima.
Detail photo of the positioning of a small glass tube filled with argon gas that contains a twisted nanocarbon across from a high-resolution micro lens, which will be used to monitor the local temperature of the small filaments in an experiment in the Kotov Lab at the North Campus Research Center of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. This lens and the software used with it allowed for precise thermal mapping of the twisted nanocarbon. The glass tube is filled with argon because nanocarbon is highly susceptible to oxidation under air conditions, especially when heated. Argon, being an inert gas, prevents oxidation and ensures the stability of the nanocarbon during high-temperature operation.
Researchers from the Kotov Lab have found that submicrometer twisted filaments made from materials like nanocarbon or metals can produce strong chiral infrared photons, especially in the wavelength range of 500 to 300 nanometers. The twisted filaments emit light that is significantly brighter, up to 100 times more bright than other similar light emitters. The special helical shape of the filaments helps in controlling the type of twisted light they emit. Additionally, coating these nanocarbons with durable, transparent ceramics results in bright and adjustable chiral emitters capable of functioning at temperatures that were previously thought to be unreachable. This advancement opens new possibilities in the field of chiral photonics and high-temperature applications.

The solution that anchors AI to permit computers to obtain noteworthy information from digital videos and images and other visual inputs is called computer vision. The insights gathered through computer vision are used for taking automated actions. Computer vision plays a crucial role in applications like face recognition, shape segmentation, material detection, etc. These applications will enable many devices and equipment we use on a daily basis to be smarter, more functional and better. For example, having a CV in a surveillance camera can help automatically detect unusual events and notify them. According to Allied Market Research, the international CV market size in 2020 valued at approximately $9.45Bn. It is forecasted to reach around $41.11Bn by 2030 and register a 16.0% of CAGR from 2020-2030. In this blog, we will discuss computer vision in detail, its applications, advantages and examples.

When Social Moms approached us to develop an application dedicated to moms on Facebook, they were already deep into an abandoned development effort. We took their specifications, provided them with a strategy for development and execution, then programmed a masterpiece for them. Because the project involved a medley of some advanced social networking features like group creation and messaging, they needed consultation on how to establish a flow within the application, which is what we provided to them.

Like my cell phone pic? lol. I put my iPhone away to storage, and downgraded the rate plan so I don't have a data plan anymore. Just a regular old cell phone, but it is still nice. Trying to cut back as much as possible.
So now you know why I haven't been around much. Miss you guys!
FunWritr supports open-ended user input, interpreted and organized via computational linguistics tools and instantiated through images and audio acquired via APIs.
The application’s client-side functionality and user interface were developed using Adobe Flash Builder. Support for the entered writing is loaded, organized, and displayed based on NLP and language acquisition theory.
On the server-side, incoming requests initiate database queries to ensure the request has not been made and processed in the past. Requests are tagged with part of speech, grammar chunking, word disambiguation, definition, and interconnection information. Additionally, image queries are made via the Flickr API and the resultant URLs are returned as well.

i made this lil app to interface to the controller over the usb-to-serial port. yeah, that is working at 300 baud rate.
see the set for more info about the baud/microcontroller.
about the app, it gets it's settings from an .ini file. if one doesn't exist, it creates the file filled with default settings. it also dumps the hidden options, which can be manually enabled (buffer dump) by editing the .ini and restarting the app. also the listing selection is loaded from the .ini at startup, allowing customization without recompiling the application.
